Chapter Twenty Two
Take this! The right of your future bride, which I was taking away from her." She says sarcastically, dropping the boxes on his bed.
He looks down, not giving any reaction.
"She’s isn’t even your wife yet you act like a love sick puppy. Don’t know what will become of you after marriage.” She mutters and steps towards the door to leave the room.
"Now, you’re saying too much." He grabs her wrist, not liking her tone.
"I’m stating facts. Protectiveness isn’t safe yet! If you are so overprotective of her, your heart might break if something happens.” Her voice is full of confidence as she places her hand on his chest.
"Stop it! Enough is enough, Sahaan. Don't say a word against her or else...” He yells in anger.
"Or else? What will you do? You already did everything you could, is there still anything left? The only thing left is abusing me, if that will satisfy you, then go ahead and hit me!" She states in a firm voice, looking directly into his eyes. Horrified by her words, he shoves her away.
"You’ve gone mad! You already know a Pathan never raises their hand on a woman. Stop watching those dramas, then maybe you’ll get some sense into that brain of yours.” Ahmed was still shocked by her words.
She chuckles at him, no humor present in her laugh.
The guys are trying to cover up the electric work out there, so she decides to make something warm since they’re drenched in rain.
She goes downstairs, and into the kitchen
Tanzeen suddenly rushes out of Sahaan’s grandmother’s room. With mirth in her eyes, she’s holding her purse in a tight grip as if someone will snatch it.
When Tanzeen sees Sahaan, she winks at her. After waving her fingers at Sahaan, she leaves the house.
