chapter287
The hospital room door opened to reveal Jenna carrying bags of all
sizes.
Davis followed the sound, spotting Jenna in a baseball cap, hoodie, and skinny jeans with a crossbody bag slung over her shoulder.
Her makeup was minimal–just foundation and a touch of lipstick.
Though dressed simply, her toned figure, height, and captivatingly deep eyes held his gaze.
Davis had seen countless women, yet Jenna’s first appearance left him momentarily stunned.
Elvin instinctively turned toward Bianca upon seeing Jenna.
Bianca met his eyes and calmly said, “Elvin, you and Mr. Davis should. get going. I’ll be fine with Jenna here.”
Elvin sat by the bed, frozen stiff as he heard Bianca’s words.
Even he could tell she was telling him to leave.
He refused to budge, frowning as he insisted, “I’m not busy. I’ll stay at the hospital with you. You’re sick–I can’t leave you alone.”
Bianca looked at him with an expression devoid of emotion, her voice soft but distant. “Go home. Jenna can stay with me. It’s more
appropriate since she’s a woman.
Elvin’s frown deepened. “But last night you agreed…”
He wanted to say she’d accepted him as her lover.
Bianca cut him off. “I had a fever last night. I wasn’t thinking clearly. Mr. Elvin, don’t take those things seriously.”
Though he knew she was pushing him away, Elvin dug in his heels. “I’m not leaving. If you want Ms. Sawyer here, fine. But I’ll stay in this hospital. Pretend I don’t exist.
Jenna entered the room, placing lilies on the nightstand and a fruit basket on the coffee table.
Watching Elvin’s stubborn refusal to leave, Jenna felt dazed.
This proud man now looked utterly humbled before Bianca.
Davis’s gaze had followed Jenna since she entered.
His appreciative stare was direct yet not uncomfortable.
Meeting his eyes, Jenna gave a brief acknowledging nod.
Seeing she couldn’t persuade Elvin, Bianca sighed. “Do whatever you
Want.”
If he wouldn’t leave, she’d find another way.
Turning to Jenna, she added, “Jenna, I’d like to take a walk outside.”
Jenna hurried to the bedside, bending to support her.
But Elvin’s low voice cut through the air. “You’re still unwell. Where do you think you’re going?”
Pushing back the covers, Bianca met his eyes. “I’m visiting Blair. He stayed with Winnie all night–it’s my turn now. He needs rest.”

She said this deliberately to Elvin.
She wanted him gone.
As Bianca moved to rise, Elvin suddenly clamped his hand around her wrist. His dark eyes locked onto hers as he said coldly, “Bianca, you’re not recovered. I won’t let you see them.”
Bianca didn’t struggle. Holding his gaze steadily, she countered, “Blair is my husband. Winnie is my daughter. Who else should I see?
You?
Who are you to me?”
The room grew tense and charged as Bianca and Elvin faced off.
