Goodbye Scumbag, Hello True Love novel Chapter 10

Only after seeing Tristan's name pop up as "Husband" did Cassandra remember that when Tristan came to dinner the night before, he'd changed his contact name in her phone.

At the time, Tristan had justified his actions confidently, saying that since they were now married, it was only natural to save him as "Husband".

Without waiting for her consent, Tristan had boldly picked up her phone and made the change himself.

Staring at the blinking word on the screen, Cassandra felt warmth spread through her chest. Pressing the answer button, her voice unconsciously softened. "Hello? What's up?"

Tristan's deep, magnetic voice resonated through the phone. "Are you at the office right now? Don't leave after work. I'll pick you up, and we'll go home together."

He'd been waiting for this moment for a long time.

A gentle blush crept onto Cassandra's cheeks. "Alright," she said softly before quickly hanging up.

The moment Cassandra ended the call, she looked up and met Aidan's dark, angry gaze. His expression was stiff, a mix of resentment and mockery as if he'd caught her committing some shameful act.

"Cassandra, maybe you owe me an explanation. Why exactly did your phone show a call from 'Husband'?" Aidan's voice was cold and accusatory.

Cassandra frowned, annoyance flickering inside her, but she kept her voice calm. "Aidan, that's my personal business. Since when do I have to report to you? You have no right to question me."

Seeing the rising tension, Clara quickly intervened, softening her voice. "Aidan, don't be angry. Cass is probably just doing this to upset you. There's no way she'd get married this quickly."

Aidan took a breath, trying to calm down. Clara was right. Cassandra had always adored him. There was no way she'd marry someone else this soon. She was obviously trying to provoke him.

"Cassandra, if you think playing these games will make me jealous, you've succeeded. But you'd better be careful. Don't push your luck," Aidan warned icily.

Cassandra's expression remained indifferent, her voice icy yet composed. "Aidan, you're overestimating yourself. Who I marry is none of your business."

She placed the document firmly on the desk. "The contract is right here. I'll finish handing over my work shortly. You have three days to think it over. If you don't respond by then, I'll sell my shares to someone else."

With that, Cassandra straightened her back and walked out of the office without another glance.

As soon as she was gone, Aidan angrily tore the contract into shreds, frustration boiling over.

Damn it! When did Cassandra become this stubborn?

Clara cautiously approached him, whispering, "Aidan, maybe Cass really has met someone else, and that's why she's demanding money. But she's really asking for too much."

Aidan's eyes flashed dangerously. "Forget the 30 million! She's not getting a single cent. If she wants to leave, she's leaving with nothing."

He had always thought Cassandra was sensible, but he never expected her to be so greedy. He had completely misjudged her.

Clara raised an eyebrow slyly. "Exactly. If she'd asked for a few hundred thousand, maybe it would've been acceptable."

Aidan wrapped his arms around Clara, sighing in relief. "You're right, Clara. You're always the sweet and sensible one."

Clara nestled closer to him, murmuring, "Don't worry, Aidan. I'll always stand by your side. But now that we've upset her, she probably won't give us those design sketches."

Aidan smiled smugly. "Don't worry. We still know her computer password. I checked earlier. Her designs are almost finished. Once she's gone tonight..."

Clara smiled triumphantly. "Perfect. By the way, I bought some new lingerie and sleepwear. It's your favorite color, pink."

Aidan grinned, forgetting his worries instantly. "You really do know what I like. I can't wait to see it tonight."

They quickly returned to flirting, their earlier concerns forgotten entirely.

...

Meanwhile, Cassandra returned to her office to finish handing over her work.

It didn't take long. She trusted her team completely and had already neatly documented everything.
