Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1960

"What's that smell? It's awful." I covered my nose.

The blood stench was overwhelming, like one from a slaughterhouse mixed with the briny sea.

"Something's wrong," Solomon muttered.

"Ma'am, they killed so many of our guys." The lead bodyguard's face was grim. "They followed us for years. The Illuminati are animals!"

The west docks were littered with bodies, sprawled in every direction.

Debra forced herself to stay calm. "Haven't the police shown up yet?"

"They're on their way," another bodyguard chimed in. "When I got here, our guys were already down. This is sheer provocation."

Randy frowned. "Hold on. They made this big a mess just to pick a fight?"

"Something is wrong," Debra said, raising her hand. "Run!"

The bodyguards quickly scattered. Their leader stepped in front of Debra and Erica.

A massive explosion roared from the sea.

"Mom!" I shouted, trying to rush over.

"Are you nuts? That's a bomb." Solomon grabbed me, leading me to run.

The blasts kept coming. It was like they wanted to level the whole west docks.

Neither Solomon nor I had ever seen anything like that.

Ships at the docks were blown to bits. Metal shards flew everywhere.

Debra asked, "They wanted to blow up the whole west docks?"

"Yeah." Marion nodded. "War's coming. This was probably their warning shot."

"So, they caused all this chaos? They're insane!" Randy said. "Those bastards! I'm gonna make them pay."

Solomon and I were too shocked to utter a sound.

Suddenly, two bodyguards ambushed us from behind. They grabbed us and dragged us forward.

Neither of us resisted. We wanted a closer look at our parents.

"Them again?" Randy scowled. "Where the hell do you two keep popping up from?"
