Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1944

Erica paused. "After watching you for a while, I figured you were just raised like a stray."

Randy clapped a hand over her mouth. "Okay, enough, stop talking."

He had thought their feelings were mutual all these years. Turned out, it was all in his head.

He broke down, realizing Erica was just that oblivious.

"But you were sneaky-smart," she added, tugging at his tie. "If you liked me, why didn't you just say so?"

"I did. You didn't listen."

"You did?"

"Yup."

"When?"

She couldn't recall any signs.

Randy sighed, "I tried confessing on the school field, flowers and all. But before I could finish, you snatched the flowers."

"Oh. I remember." Erica said. "It was Teacher's Day. I thought you got those for the teacher. I wondered why you were dragging your feet. You should have just asked me to be your girlfriend. I would have got it."

"I did say it."

"Huh?"

"After you took the flowers, I said it."

"Uh... I don't remember that at all."

"I didn't hear anything. Weird. It was just noisy a second ago."

"A break, maybe."

Erica and Randy had their wedding plans set. But Erica was hit with pre-wedding jitters.

"What should I do? I never planned on getting married," she said, pacing back and forth. "Were you nervous when you got married?"

"Not really," Debra said, thinking back. "With Marion there, I wasn't too stressed."

"But Randy is always unreliable," Erica fretted. "What if we're not right for each other? What if he starts looking for other women too?"

"Too?" Debra echoed.
