Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1808

Solomon braced himself. "Then let's do this."

Lillian thought he'd lost it. "Come on. You think you're Iron Man? He's just messing with us."

She spun to Juan, desperate. "Right?"

"I don't joke," Juan said seriously, heading back to the building.

The mercenaries closed in. Lillian braced for Solomon's doom. Then chaos hit outside.

She whipped her head toward the gate. A crew of black vests stormed in, but these had Osborne badges on their chests.

"You asked if I could protect Lillian," Solomon said. "You didn't say I had to go solo."

His backup was Osborne-trained muscles. The two sides squared off, neither daring to move.

Juan's face finally cracked a hint of approval. Not bad. Solomon knew when to call in reinforcements.

Lillian darted to him, whispering, "How did you even know what he was planning? You had this ready?"

"You think I'm as dense as you? Facing a legend, I'd be nuts to show up empty-handed," Solomon puffed up despite his uneasiness.

Before they could react, more hit the dirt. 30 seconds later, they were all down.

Juan said, "Arrogance comes with a price. They paid for your arrogance. How are you gonna face their families?"

Solomon's mind went blank, and Lillian was just as shocked.

It was meant to be just a test, but so many people died.

His blood ran cold.
