Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1806

Lillian was still reeling from Juan's line.

"Did he mean you or me?" she asked.

"Me, but you're not going anywhere either," Solomon replied.

Lillian's face fell, and he eyed her. "If you're gonna fake it, go all in. Skip class this afternoon."

Lillian nodded. If Juan was teaching, she'd rather hide there playing sick.

By evening, the school's PA blared an alarm. Then the principal's voice boomed. "Attention! Due to an anti-riot drill, leave campus immediately after dismissal."

The students poured out, buzzing.

"A drill out of nowhere? Never had one before."

"Who cares? Early dismissal rocks."

"That new teacher in our class? Total legend."

They gossiped about Juan's past glory days.

Meanwhile, Juan stood by the school building. His team had swept the campus. Everyone was accounted for.

On the field, Solomon stood dead center.

Juan started, "Your test's simple. Break through 50 guys, and I'll trust you can protect Lillian."

"50?" Lillian was stunned. "Godfather, you serious?"

Even their toughest training never threw that much at them. Before she could argue, two vans unloaded a squad of mercenaries in black vests, packing cutting-edge rifles.

Not paintballs and real steel.

Lillian's gut sank. This wasn't a game.
