Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1760

Jordan suddenly noticed a piece of paper in William's hand.

He snatched it and found out it was a death certificate for someone who had died of tuberculosis. He immediately recalled when the doctor handed him Andrew's death notice last night.

The cause matched.

"What is going on here? You'd better make it clear," he demanded, feeling something was off.

William glanced around and made a silent gesture.

"Keep it down. If Mr. Andrew Potter finds out, I'm screwed."

"You mean Andrew..."

"Shh! I don't want trouble."

William flailed, making frantic hush gestures. Jordan let him go.

"Make it clear."

"Follow me."

William dragged him into an empty room.

"So, last night..."

"All a show." William peeked outside and whispered, "He just slept in there. He found some incense the Illuminati used to mess with people's heads, had it tweaked, and tested it last night."

"So, he's screwing with us?"

"Quiet. You're getting me killed." William clamped a hand over Jordan's mouth. "He had his reasons. You gotta get it. If he sticks around, you'll never take over the Potter family. He's tired and wants a break. You've got big dreams and the skills to take the family higher. But those branches won't let you lead if he is still around."

"I get it, but I can't accept it."

"You have to. It's the best path he could carve out for you."
