Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1711

Jordan shook his head. "I guess nothing gets past you."

"If you know that, why drag this out?" Debra said. "We're walking into a death trap. At least, let me die without regrets."

Jordan turned serious. "None of us are dying today. That's why I said I'd tell you after we get through this. You wanna know? Then live through it. That's what Marion wants too."

He glanced at Marion, who never said no to Debra, except this time.

Marion gripped her hand. "We will make it. We have to."

"Deal," she said. "We get out alive, and you tell me everything."

"Deal," Jordan and Marion said together.

"I've been waiting here forever," Randy yelled from the valley's edge, flicking away his third cigarette. "Hurry up."

"Coming."

They'd been there before and knew the fastest route to the center.

Randy led them into the valley. "Left here, then right. A big pit in 100 yards."

Through the fog, a group of cloaked figures stepped out. They were nighttime creeps with cold, gleaming eyes.

"Long time no see," Lara said, smirking like she'd already won.

Debra's eyes went icy as she recalled how they had murdered Kale a few days ago. Without a second thought, she raised her gun and fired at Lara's head.

Lara saw it coming, yanking one of her goons in front to take the bullet.

"Why so hostile?" she scoffed. "I always pegged you as the careful type. That was reckless. If you killed me, no one would get you through that door."
