Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1696

Debra listened, but something still nagged at her.

Jordan noticed her frown. "You got a hunch?"

"Not really a hunch." Debra glanced at Randy on the bed. "We checked the Osborne Mansion's footage and saw Enoch loading a sack into his trunk, but we never saw Erica in it."

Everyone froze, and she continued, "Juan wouldn't drop hints for no reason. He told us to bail, knowing it was a trap. Think about it. If the Illuminati nabbed Erica, why not hit us up right away or leave a note to demand the gemstone? Rather, Randy figured that out, and we went to them. It doesn't make sense, right?"

She knew how badly the Illuminati wanted that gemstone. If they had Erica, they wouldn't sit on their hands.

Everything had happened so suddenly, and Randy's crash had thrown her off. She hadn't had time to think it through.

When she calmed down and analyzed the situation, the Illuminati's moves didn't add up.

"You're right," Randy said, replaying his run-in with Enoch.

Given his temper, Enoch would have dangled Erica in front of him for better leverage. Instead, he had just poked at Randy with Michael.

"If she's not with Enoch, then where?" Randy was puzzled.

"If that footage doesn't show Enoch taking Erica," Debra said, "then she never left the Osborne Mansion."

William sighed, "Sorry, buddy. She's paying too much."

Debra looked at unconscious Randy, then turned to Marion. "We can't let him run around like this. We'll go."

"Got it." Marion hoisted Randy onto his shoulder and laid him back on the bed.

Before leaving for the Osborne Mansion, Debra told William to watch him.

The guard saw them at the gate and stepped up. "Dear guests, what's up this time?"
