Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1554

"Pacemaker. Increase the voltage." The sound of the doctor's urgent voice echoed in her ears.

There was a lot of blood. She could feel it, and the sharp pain was attacking her mind.

Debra felt disoriented. She thought she saw the operating room ceiling, bright lights blinding her eyes.

Everything in front of her was blurry, like something that had happened in a past life.

Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her arm.

A cold sweat ran down her back. When she opened her eyes, she saw Jordan sitting beside her.

The house was calm and peaceful. Everything that had happened was just a dream.

It had been a long time since she had such a nightmare. She didn't know if it was because Marion hadn't been by her side lately, but she couldn't shake the sense of unease.

Jordan had soaked a towel in warm water and placed it on her forehead.

"Without Marion around, you just can't take care of yourself, can you?" he said.

"What's wrong with me?" Her voice was hoarse.

"You've got a fever, and you weren't aware."

Jordan stared at her for a moment and recalled what Barton had said in the last call.

He didn't know what Debra and Marion had gone through in the cave, but Andrew's health had been getting worse.

Before going overseas, Andrew wasn't as weak as people made him out to be. He could even walk.

Jordan frowned, deciding to keep it to himself for now. He shook his head gently and said, "It's nothing. I'm just worried that if something happens to you under my care, Marion will come after me. I really can't take him."

"I thought you were about to say something big," Debra smiled. "Don't worry about me. I'll be better in a few days."

"I've hired a nurse to come take care of you. She'll make sure you get your medicine on time." Jordan stood up from the chair and added, "By the way, you've been hanging out at the nightclub with those male escorts, right? A lot of them have suddenly quit. Did you bribe them?"
