Joe pushed the door open, and the cold wind blew in.
Everyone turned their heads, except for one person standing in the middle of the hallway.
"Master..." Joe staggered inside.
The person slowly turned around, unfazed by the sight of Joe's bad injuries.
Not far away from the church, a guard from the Houston family held his breath, watching the situation in the chapel.
He quickly sent the location to Marion, but a sharp knife was suddenly thrust into his neck.
The phone slipped from his hand and fell to the ground. His body then collapsed into a pool of blood.
The killer, wearing a white mask, entered the church and reported, "Master, there was a tail outside."
His words caused an uproar in the crowd. The believers shot up from their seats.
"What?"
"How is that possible?"
...
The bishop turned to look at them, and the noises died out immediately.
His gaze fell on Joe, who panicked. "It wasn't me, Master. I swear."
That killer stepped forward and sliced his throat.
Joe pressed his hand to his neck, but the blood kept pouring out. He reached out to the bishop, but the latter didn't even look at him.
"We've been exposed. Let's go," the bishop said.
At his command, everyone hurriedly left the chapel, while black-clad guards flooded in from all directions to clean up the scene.
Debra put her hand on one of the chairs and felt a bit of residual heat.
"Someone was here. Looks like they found the guard and ran off," she said.
Marion looked around the room. "Check carefully, and pull up the surveillance footage."
As they observed the area, Debra asked, "Do you remember the church we saw in Orkgate?"
"I do."
"That church was shut down by Drake's people. I didn't expect they'd have one here, too."
A bodyguard rushed over and reported, "Sir, we've checked the nearby surveillance, but it seems tonight's footage was wiped clean."
Debra frowned. "Was it a hacker?"
