Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1467

Pedro waited outside the police station.

As soon as Debra and Marion stepped out of the car, he approached them.

"Everything's ready. You can go ahead and begin the interrogation."

"Thank you, Mr. Hardy."

"No worries. Please, this way."

Pedro led them to the interrogation room where Joe sat handcuffed. After the recent incident, Juan sent him to the police.

He had been working with Jeffrey all these years, either knowing or participating in all those schemes. His arrest was far from unjust.

Debra got straight to the point. "Who's behind Jeffrey?"

"I don't understand," he replied.

Debra picked up a stack of documents. "Based on the evidence Jeffrey left behind, we've found clues pointing to someone else behind the scenes. You were Jeffrey's right-hand man. How could you not know?"

"I really don't know," Joe smirked. "I'm already in this place. Why would I lie?"

"You see, we've known each other for a while," Debra said. "If you tell me the truth, I can bail you out."

Joe remained unmoved. "If it weren't for you, Mr. Nichols would've achieved his goals by now. The Nichols family would've risen to glory again. I hate you. Why would I tell you anything?"

"So, we just drop it?"

"Of course not. We just need a different approach."

Seeing her sly smile, Marion quickly caught on.

"You've always got tricks up your sleeve."

"All our hope lies in this one."

From their earlier conversation, she had already picked up on some clues.
