Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1175

Drake wanted to argue, but Debra simply wrapped her arm around Marion's neck and waved him goodbye.

Downstairs, Liza glanced at Cathryn's body. Her former friend was now disfigured and lifeless. After a moment of hesitation, she tore off the black veil from her dress and went over to cover Cathryn's face.

She had once considered Cathryn her only true friend, but Cathryn had never cared about her.

Liza couldn't help but feel sorrow, but there was no point in holding onto resentment. She wiped her tears and followed the others out of the venue.

Watching them leave, Drake fumed. "They just left like that? Why should I stay and clean up this mess? Is that fair?"

"Boss, it's not fair. We should..." Kale chimed in.

Drake shot him a cold glance. "And what about here? What about the people we've captured? Do you think these idiots can handle it?"

Those guards were ashamed, further lowering their heads.

Drake tugged at his tie in frustration. He hated wearing it, especially when he was angry.

With a sharp exhale, he placed his hands on his hips and barked, "Search this place thoroughly. You, bring me that old bastard, Conrad."

"Yes, Boss." The men quickly set to work.

Kale spoke up. "Boss, Conrad's already here, waiting outside."

Drake kicked him several more times, leaving him dizzy and gasping for air. "They rented and decorated your place, and you're telling me you didn't know? Do you have a death wish?"

Conrad's forehead was bruised from the kicks. He quickly begged for mercy. "Mr. Lowe, I was wrong. Please, spare me."

"Tell me, who's behind all this? Who gave you the nerve to stop me?"

"I'll tell you." Conrad scrambled to speak. "It was Cathryn. She came to me and gave me all the assets she inherited from the Bernard family. I was greedy and agreed to help her, but I didn't know she was targeting Mrs. Houston."

"Bullshit!" Drake grabbed his collar and pulled him up. "I told you to protect Debra, and now you're telling me you didn't know Cathryn was after her? Say it again. I dare you!"
