Sylas could feel his armor about to give way, but in that moment, the deathly cold in his eyes was only deepening.
There was a sharp edge to him at the moment that could be summarized in a single line.
He wouldn’t be denied.
Droplets of Blood Essence pooled into his claws, the arms of his Scorpion Warlord Armor pulsing with great might as he reforged the Runes with the Blood Essence itself.
There was a sudden eruption of power and strength, and Sylas clamped down on the lance-arrow with a tempest of explosive might.
BANG!
Sylas attempted to complete a fusion with the Bone-Tailed Lizard, but failed. He was too injured from the stakes to make it through, but he didn’t falter a single moment, having already expected this much.
Semi-Fusion.
He might not be able to complete a full fusion, but that wasn’t the end of the world either, because the Will of his Scorpion Warlord Armor was growing so much stronger, fusing with Serpentes while it was active was also growing far more difficult.
If he had succeeded, maybe he would have ended up weakening the armor.
But this way…
Spinecoil Poison pulsed with life, pouring into Sylas’ Scorpion Tail.
His armor became entirely black, and in that moment, the hint of violet in the armor vanished entirely, becoming a mass of deathly black.
The bone shards that stuck out of his armor in every which direction began to morph and change, and all of a sudden, the lance-arrow of bone that Sylas had just shattered became gauntlets that covered his fists.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Sylas punched in a continuous rain, the arrows that came to follow up shattering and adding to his arsenal.
More golden Blood Essence poured into the air, and Poison Runes took shape one after another.
Vaekra’s expression changed. She felt her connection to her own bones cut off in a way she hadn’t experienced since her evolution.
But she didn’t have the time to think about it for long, because Sylas was already on the move.
Glass and bone filled the skies, and one Dogon after another collapsed.
BOOM!
Sylas landed on the bloody waters before Vaekra, a poisonous mist exuding from his body.
The Spinecoil Poison was a Poison Aether formed from the Spinecoil Serpent, a Bronze King Beast. Its number of Foundations was already at 60 at the F-Grade.
With the Scorpion Warlord Tail’s special ability to Mature Poison Runes to the same level of Mastery, this meant that Sylas was exuding a 60 Foundation Rune at Essence Mastery.
Simply put…
It was overwhelming.
In its presence, Vaekra found that she couldn’t even control her own Unique Gene abilities anymore.
She tapped her foot on the ground, quickly trying to make some distance. She knew that she had to get out of the way of Sylas’ rampage and take advantage of her ranged abilities. There was no other choice.
However, as she extended the distance, the fellow members of her Race weren’t nearly so lucky.
To the side, the head of a Dogon spontaneously combusted, their skull suddenly growing an array of spikes.
To another, a Dogon’s chest bloomed open like flowers, their ribs splitting open as though to display their inner organs to the world.
On yet another side, a Dogon fell to their knees, their legs hyperextending in the wrong direction. Their bone poked out at odd angles, becoming spears that ripped through their own chest.
