From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 50

At that moment, Olivia sat quietly, not saying a word, her whole presence radiating a calm, gentle warmth. If you just looked at her like this, you might think she was the type who went along with anything—soft-spoken, maybe a little shy.

But Ethan Carter knew better. He knew that what you saw on the surface wasn’t the whole story.

Sure, Olivia was kind and gentle, maybe even a little sentimental, but underneath it all, she had this quiet strength, a sort of stubborn resilience that nothing could shake.

She reminded him of a wildflower in the meadow—delicate in appearance, yet capable of surviving the harshest storms.

It wasn’t just her looks that drew people in, but the mix of grace and grit she carried inside.

Ethan watched her for a moment, then switched off the hair dryer and said, “Alright, you’re all set.”

Olivia ran a hand through her hair, then caught Ethan’s gaze in the mirror.

Her eyes crinkled with a smile. “Thank you, Mr. Carter.”

“We’ve been married for almost ten days now,” Ethan said, casually.

“Huh?” Olivia blinked, caught off guard, not quite following where his train of thought was going.

Those bright eyes of hers stared at him, wide and a little lost.

Ethan put away the hair dryer, and seeing her like that, his heart softened.

He couldn’t help but smile as he teased, “Don’t you think it’s a little formal to keep calling me Mr. Carter, Mrs. Carter?”

Was it too formal? Maybe a bit.

But she’d gotten used to it over the past few days, and hadn’t really noticed anything off about it.

Olivia pressed her lips together, thought for a second, then smiled and said, “Alright, Ethan. Thank you.”

“No need to thank me,” Ethan replied, and then, almost as an afterthought, said, “By the way, next weekend I’m taking you home to meet my parents and Nana.”

Olivia froze.

She knew this day would come sooner or later, but she hadn’t expected it to be so soon.
