From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 43

The sun was dipping low in the west, painting the sky with a glowing wash of crimson.

After waving goodbye to the last client, the team packed up their things and called out a cheerful “See ya, Olivia!” as they left the studio.

Helen Adams still looked a bit worried for Olivia Bennett, but the moment she heard Ethan Carter was coming to pick her up, she slung her bag over her shoulder and left with a relieved smile.

Olivia lounged in the break room for a few minutes before her phone buzzed with a message from Ethan.

She headed outside.

His familiar black car was parked by the curb.

The window was down, and there was Ethan in the driver’s seat.

He wore a crisp white button-down, the top buttons casually undone, giving a hint of his collarbone. His sleeves were rolled up in that effortless way that somehow made his forearms look even stronger.

When Ethan spotted her, he stepped out, walked around, and opened the passenger door for her—polite and smooth as ever.

Olivia flashed him a bright smile. “Thanks.”

She slid in, and he closed the door before circling back to the driver’s seat.

The car pulled smoothly onto the street.

Eyes on the road, Ethan asked, “How’d your day go? You tired?”

“Not at all.” Olivia’s smile lingered. In fact, she felt completely content—like the day had been just right.

Ethan hummed, the warmth in his voice matching her good mood.

Leaning back, Olivia watched the buildings slip by in the fading light. After a while, she realized something was off.

She glanced over, curiosity clear in her voice. “Aren’t we heading home?”

Ethan grinned. “We’re going to Savory & Grace for dinner.”

Her eyes went wide.

Savory & Grace? Wasn’t that the place they’d just talked about at lunch?

She tried not to read too much into it, but it was hard not to connect the dots—mention a great restaurant at noon, and by dinner, Ethan was taking her there.
