“Really? There’s this amazing game from California called The Gods–I absolutely love it.”

Upon hearing that Linda worked in the gaming industry, Wince’s excitement was palpable.

He gestured animatedly, describing how much he adored the game, even crediting it for helping him overcome a low point in his life.

Linda listened quietly.

At that moment, the reason she decided to create games came full circle with reality.

Nighttime, Back at the Nursing Home.

Rachel sprawled across the sofa in Linda’s room, refusing to leave. She had already shifted

into more than ten different lounging positions.

Currently, her head was hanging off the edge of the sofa, her long legs propped against the

backrest and stretched up the wall, while her arms flopped lazily to her sides.

“Linda, tell me–who invented this human dog bed?”

Linda, about to join an online meeting with her production team, chuckled softly at Rachel’s

comment.

“Is this why you refuse to leave? Should I ask Eva to get us a new bed?”

Eva was the area steward responsible for Linda and Rachel’s wing of the nursing home–a

kind and helpful woman they got along with very well.

Rachel picked up her tablet, put on her headphones, and resumed scrolling through live

Rachel spent the same amount of time glued to a single live stream, constantly glancing at Linda and struggling to hold herself back, her face turning red with the effort

Finally, Linda removed her headset and closed her laptop.

Rachel sprang up from the floor and rushed to Linda’s side, pulling her close with an air of

mystery.

“Linda, I have news for you.”

“Ivan… is dead.”

Ivan is dead…

Linda froze in place, unable to process the words.
