Forever Yours novel Chapter 33

A lot of thoughts have been running through Michelle's head these past weeks. She still couldn't get over Nathan's betrayal. She had always thought that they would both raise their daughter in a healthy happy relationship as a loving family.

She had recently been having memories of her late father and the times they spent when he was still alive. He loved her and her mother so much

Maybe if he were alive, she wouldn't have to go through all this. No one would've had the audacity to throw insults at her family the way Rebecca did, making her feel less of herself everytime they met. Her dad always made sure his family was safe and protected.

She was hurt by Nathan's betrayal and still is, but she has been thinking about Sandra's future. She doesn't want her daughter growing up without her father by her side to guide her through life's journey.

Michelle was already an adult when she lost her father but she knew how difficult it was for her to get over his death because she wasn't fully ready to face the world on her own. She needed his guidance for so many things, which is why she has to make a tough decision now because she doesn't want her child to be bullied or mocked by her peers in the future for not having her father with her.

Michelle has decided to reconcile with Nathan because she didn't want to be selfish, she needed to think not only of herself but also their daughter. She would forgive him because she was certain he wasn't the only one in the wrong, Chloe was also at fault. She had always sounded desperate when it came to matters regarding Nathan.

With all that has happened, Michelle decided that if her and Nathan were to be reconciled, they would move out of Washington as the horrible memories were too much. She knew if she told her mother about her decision, she wouldn't be happy about it, but would have to accept it.

Michelle was grateful she has a mother like Leah who took care of Sandra while she was languishing in her sorrow. She would make her mom understand that she was making this decision for the sake of her baby. She didn't want her child to hate her in the future for refusing to forgive her father.

Michelle would accept Nathan back in her life if he comes to apologise to her. She wouldn't tell him about her decision until he shows up. So now, all she has to do is to wait and be strong for herself and her baby.

Leah had gone out to check on the restaurant, leaving Michelle alone with Sandra. She was in the bedroom with her baby when a maid came into the room to let her know that Nathan was at the door and wanted to know if she should let him in. Michelle contemplated for a few minutes before finally deciding to receive him. She followed the maid to the living room to await Nathan's presence.

"Can you help me get the things at the trunk of my car?" Nathan requested

"Yes sir"the maid replied before going to get the said things

"Hi" Nathan nervously greeted Michelle

"Why are you here?" Michelle calmly asked

"Um... Sandra turns four months today... I wanted to.. um... Michelle. I needed to see the both of you" he confessed

The maid came back inside with lots of wrapped presents. Michelle guessed they were all for Sandra

"All this isn't necessary, Nathan" she said as she noticed the maid still going out to bring in more gifts

"Can I hold her?" Nathan carefully asked

Michelle could see how Nathan was pleading with his eyes for her to say yes.

"Okay" she replied, handing over the child to him.

Nathan got teary as he held Sandra in his arms making Michelle suddenly feel pity for him. They had both been through a lot within such short period of time, with her suffering more. She noticed he had eye bags which meant he hadn't had proper sleep. He had also lost weight.

Michelle took a seat on the couch. Nathan followed her action. By the time the maid was through with getting all the stuffs from the trunk of Nathan's car, the living room was filled with presents.

"Michelle.. can we talk?" Nathan nervously asked.

Michelle didn't know if she should reply a 'yes' or 'no'. The only thing she wanted was to reconcile and not talk about the past, but that would mean she was letting him off too easily. On the other hand, she wanted to hear what he had to say. So she nodded a 'yes'

Michelle was touched by what Nathan just confessed. How could she say no to him when he considers her and their daughter as his priority. She couldn't hold the tear that poured down her right cheek.

"Please give me a second chance and I promise, I won't let you down"

Michelle was in tears as she stared at Sandra who was peacefully sleeping in Nathan's arms. She always found a way to get comfortable in the arms of the people who loved her.

Michelle couldn't deny her the opportunity of being with her father just because of a mistake. She also missed being with Nathan and if he was truly sorry, who was she not to forgive him when she almost made the same mistake during her vacation in Hawaii

"Whatever decision I'm making right now is for our daughter's sake" Michelle said

"I'm going to forgive you and pretend non of this ever happened because I want Sandra to grow up knowing her father as a loving one and not a cheater, but I wouldn't want us to continue living here in Washington... We can move somewhere else, preferably New York where you used to live"

Nathan couldn't believe his ears. Michelle was willing to give him a second chance.

"If that's what you want, then it's done.. I'll make preparations for our departure. Today, tomorrow, whenever you want us to leave, name it" Nathan excitedly said

Michelle couldn't help but smile at his excitement. She was happy to see his face light up with happiness.

Nathan slowly leaned in, giving Michelle a kiss on her lips.

"Thank you Michelle. Thank you so much" he said after the kiss.

What do you guys think of Michelle forgiving Nathan?
