Forever Yours novel Chapter 18

Michelle drove to her mom's house. She quickly got out of the car and ran into the house, rushed to her bedroom and shut the door behind her.

Mrs Stewart was in the garden reading a book when a maid came to her

"Ma'am, sorry to interrupt your reading. Miss Stewart just ran into the house in tears."

Leah was confused. What would have happened to make Michelle come here in tears?

"Thanks for letting me know. You may go now" she said dismissing the maid before she hurried into the house in search of her daughter.

She went straight into Michelle's bedroom when she didn't find her in the living room. She opened the door and found Michelle on her bed crying. She carefully shut the door and walked towards her daughter.

"Michelle honey, what's the matter?" She asked placing her hand on Michelle's head, gently stroking it.

Michelle lifted her head up from her pillow and engulfed her mom in a hug. Her mom began soothing her, saying sweet words to her.

"Sweetheart, you know you can talk to me" Leah encouraged

"Mom, we broke up" Michelle said between sobs.

This surprised Leah because she never remembered Michelle mentioning that she and Derek were having any problems in their relationship.

"I couldn't take it anymore mom... I thought I was strong enough but I realized I'm not"

"It's okay honey. Don't say anything else... Everything is going to be okay" she continued soothing Michelle until she fell asleep, she then tucked her in bed.

Michelle sent two of their maids the next day to go get her things from Derek's place because she didn't want to face Derek. He had been calling her all through the night but she refused picking any of his calls. She felt hurt for ignoring him but she had to.

Derek couldn't eat nor could he think straight. He was depressed and nothing could lift his spirit. He tried on several occasions to talk to Michelle but she was avoiding him at all cost. He knew his mom went too far this time.

What was he saying, she had always gone extreme. He was glad she was now out of his life but still, that didn't make him happy. He would've felt happy about it if Michelle was still with him.

He hasn't gone to get his hair trimmed nor has he shaved in days. He has lost few pounds from not eating, making him pale but he couldn't do anything about it. He thought distracting himself with work would help but that did no good because memories of all the times they had lunch together in his office kept distracting him from working.

He became aggressive towards his staffs to their surprise. He didn't like this new person he had become. He detested himself right now because he was slowly losing his mind and couldn't control it. He decided to give his dad a call asking them to meet up at his house because he desperately needed to talk to him. His dad agreed to the meeting.

Derek told his dad that he couldn't stay there any longer, that he needed a change of environment. He wanted to know if his dad would agree to handling the company here in Washington while he travels to Las Vegas to take care of the one there.

Derek's dad felt really sorry for his son. He understood how Derek was feeling so he agreed to his offer. He has never seen his son this depressed, he wondered if he was ever going to recover from this.

Derek thanked his dad for his understanding. He packed his things and called for his dad's private jet to be made ready. Derek said goodbye to his dad the next day before moving to Las Vegas.
