Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 93

Zayn’s fingers paused momentarily. He lifted his head to look at Quentin with gloomy eyes. After a long time, he said, "Do you have nothing better to do?"

Quentin’s spine stiffened. He immediately lowered his head and shut his mouth.

A few moments later, Zayn continued working again, but said in a nearly inaudible voice, "To prove something that must be proved."

Zayn had already made many calculated moves like in a game of chess with only one purpose in mind.

Unfortunately, the one thing he wanted to prove and the one person he wanted all along did not give him a satisfactory answer.

In the end, he needed to use threats to keep that person.

"President, if I may...the Young Madam just has a tough mouth, but a soft heart, so you may want to change your approach."

Zayn heard this and raised his head to stare at Quentin. "I remember that you broke up with your last girlfriend within two months."

With this kind of track record, how did he have the guts to advise others?

Quentin’s expression looked like he had eaten dog shit and he thought that his boss was truly a poison-mouth.

"That's only because I'm too busy to spend time with her." Quentin defended himself.

"I asked the driver to pick you up. He’ll be here in ten minutes. I'll leave first."

After saying that, Quentin turned around and slipped away, afraid that Zayn would blame him for taking matters into his own hands.

A few minutes later, the man rubbed his temples, got up, and turned off his laptop.

Zayn no longer restricted Lindsey’s freedom. The two of them seemed to be back to their usual routine at home, but the atmosphere between them dropped to a freezing point.

When Zayn arrived home, Lindsey was nestled in the home theater watching a movie. She rarely set foot in here in the past. Most of the time, she only visited the bedroom and downstairs. Now, she seemed to like throwing her life away.

A French literary film was playing on the screen. The door was not closed, so through the door gap, Zayn could see the dim light on the screen reflecting on her curled-up body. He looked carefully for a while only to find Lindsey asleep on that small sofa.

After a long silence, the black and white image on the screen and the quiet couple seemed to have merged into the old movie.

When Lindsey woke up, she found herself lying on the bed in the bedroom. She was stunned for a few seconds, not remembering when she came back.

Just as she walked out of the room, two people immediately followed her.

"Young Madam, the Young Master wants you to go to Hemera today to hand in your resignation."

Lindsey’s footsteps halted for a moment before quickly returning to normal. "Alright."

She had somewhat resigned to her fate and accepted her situation.

The Guggenheim family's car dropped her off at the Hemera office lobby. Lindsey got out and looked at the two people following her as she suppressed the urge to ditch them aside and run away. She said, "You guys can wait for me here."

"Young Madam, the Young Master has instructed us to follow you everywhere you go."

Lindsey knew how resolute Zayn could be and knew that these two people would not dare to disobey him, so in the end, she reluctantly said, "Fine, follow if you want to."

She was there to hand in her resignation, but with these two people following her, she looked like a new boss coming to inspect the office.

Walking into Hemera did achieve such an effect.

The receptionist usually greeted Lindsey dully, but today, she was surprisingly enthusiastic. Lindsey was treated as if she was not being dismissed.

When Lindsey arrived at the Consulting Department, she was even more warmly welcomed.

All of her colleagues in the department came to greet her despite their previous relationship.
