Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 726

"I'll go first then." Lindsey sniffled again as she handed the hand warmer to Mr. Cooper. A simple word of thanks unconsciously pulled their relationship further from each other. "Thank you."

Mr. Cooper did not reach out to take it. His eyes lowered slightly to look at Lindsey. This small action agitated a patch of the unhealed wound on his cheekbone which brought some pain, but it made him more conscious.

"You can keep it. My assistant bought the wrong one last time, so it's just been sitting in the car. Just give me a new one the next time when you have the chance." He sat up straight, invariably pulling their distance apart.

Lindsey just let out a faint "oh". It was indeed not polite to return this kind of personal things after she had used them, so she simply accepted Mr. Cooper's kindness. "Then I’ll get my assistant to buy another one for you tomorrow. What color do you like?"

"Purple," Mr. Cooper said after a moment of contemplation.

Lindsey unconsciously raised her eyebrows. She also liked purple.

It was quite a girlish color.

"Okay." Lindsey nodded and reached out to lift her hair behind her back, "Then I’ll keep the handwarmer. I'll wash your coat and bring it to you with a new handwarmer someday, okay?"

The man next to her nodded gently. After a two-second pause, he said, "I'll walk you there."

Lindsey’s eyes flickered as she wanted to refuse, but it did not seem polite. The two of them got out of the car from their own side and Mr. Cooper walked around the back of the car towards Lindsey.

The car was parked on the right side of the road, and there was a crossroad in front. The moment she got out of the car, Lindsey immediately wrapped the coat tightly around her, but even so, she still shivered from the cold.

She clutched her purse and looked at Mr. Cooper, who was wearing a suit that seemed to have only a shirt underneath. She asked with a stutter, "Are you...are you cold?"

"No." It was a crude answer.

Lindsey pouted and felt that it was unfair.

Her driver parked on the other side of the intersection because it was inconvenient to make a U-turn. After she got in the car, they only needed to drive straight to get to Opal Suites.

Lindsey was lost in thought when there was a sudden blinding light that shone on their faces. The two of them closed their eyes subconsciously because it was too bright and raised their hands to cover their eyes.

They could hear the roar of a motorcycle approaching them. Lindsey was shocked and could hear the man’s angry curse beside her. Her arm was yanked back and her heels were unstable.

Before she could stabilize herself, she felt a sudden pain in her hand that was clutching her purse and the roar of the motorcycle engine was right in front of her, accompanied by a strong dragging force.

Lindsey knew that this was a robbery and was scared. With the severe pain in her fingers, she immediately let go of her purse.

However, she was still tugged by the force of the thug snatching her purse and Mr. Cooper's attempt to pull her back.

At this time, she could already open her eyes. The high heels she was wearing became her biggest burden. At that moment, she saw Mr. Cooper reaching out his hand to pull her back.

Lindsey subconsciously reached out to hold Mr. Cooper’s hand, but she was still a step too late. She could feel his leather glove and tugged it hard, but she still could not stop herself from falling. What followed was a pain from her butt and thighs.

Chapter 726 That Hand 1

‘Where’s my glove? When did it fall off? It’s so ugly and gory...will it scare her? I can't let her see it!’

All his problems were gathered into these thoughts, that he could not let Lindsey see his ugly scars. He did not want her to see any of it!

In a flash, Mr. Cooper immediately reached for the glove in Lindsey's hand. His fingers and body were stiff, but he reached out and did not manage to grab it.

Instead, Lindsey tightly grasped his hand that was covered in ugly scars. Her eyes were watery and her voice was frighteningly harsh as she yelled, "Who are you?!"

Chapter 726 That Hand 2

"Let go of me!" Mr. Cooper yelled. His other gloved hand was clenched into a fist. All he wanted was to quickly hide those scars. They were too ugly and he was afraid it would scare her.

Lindsey's eyes finally welled up with tears as she yelled back, "No! What's wrong with your hand? Tell me!"

She paused for a while as tears kept streaming down her face. She then knelt down and reached out to touch Mr. Cooper's face. "Let me see your face...let me see your face!"

Her chest was heaving as some kind of terrible suspicion swarmed up from the deep corners of her brain. She could no longer control it.
