Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 720

This breakfast was extraordinarily depressing.

Lindsey was not used to eating alone with people she did not know very well staring at her. Especially since Mr. Cooper did not eat, which made the meal even harder to swallow.

She put down her cutleries after eating half of the plate. Mr. Cooper thought she was full and raised his eyebrows. "Are you done?"

Lindsey dabbed a tissue around her lips and nodded slightly. "Mm."

"You eat too little." Mr. Cooper swept his gaze from the half-eaten plate of food and looked at Lindsey's slender wrist.

‘She’s too thin!’

Lindsey was already standing up, and the waiter had a good sense to come forward to take her coat over to the table. She replied as she put it on. "I can't eat anymore."

The orange-red lipstick on her lips faded because of the meal, leaving only a faint layer of red, Through his sunglasses, Lindsey’s makeup invariably faded and he unconsciously hooked up his lips.

"You're too thin. You should eat more."

Lindsey did not care much about it and laughed lightly. She said jokingly, "No woman would ever feel that they’re too thin."

"I think a little bit of fat on you might make you look better," Mr. Cooper said while helping Lindsey with the door, and the two of them walked side by side.

Lindsey did not respond and only gave a light laugh.

The two of them were no longer as silent as they were on the way to the cafe. "Ms. Juhl, with your looks and status, you probably have many admirers, right?"

This was the first time someone asked Lindsey this question. She tilted her head sideways to look at the man beside her, but she could not see anything.

"No," Lindsey denied it. Her tone was dry and she clearly did not want to say anything more about this topic. "I don’t have admirers."

Mr. Cooper seemed to give her a look, not knowing if he believed it or not. He then asked casually, "It's quite hard for you to bring up a child alone. Have you ever thought of finding someone who can take care of you?"

"Nope." Almost as soon as Mr. Cooper said that, Lindsey interjected, "I think it’s fine the way it is now."

"Won't you feel tired?" Mr. Cooper was relentless.

Lindsey was inexplicably a little angry. She stopped walking and frowned at Mr. Cooper. "Mr. Cooper, if there’s nothing else, let’s part ways here. I'm going back to my office."

Mr. Cooper did not chase after her again since the entrance of her office was not far away. He nodded slightly. "Sorry, I didn’t mean to overstep. Ms. Juhl, have a good day."

Lindsey forced a smile and clenched her hands that were in her pockets, then turned to walk back to the office.

Mr. Cooper just watched as she entered the Denarius lobby before getting into a car on the side of the road that had been following the two of them covertly.

"Sir." Luke handed the tablet in his hand to Mr. Cooper after he got into the car. "This is the progress of the several projects you’ve recently shown an interest in."

Mr. Cooper swept a glance and let out a soft "mm". Luke looked at the man's face, which was still tightly wrapped in the car, and wanted to say something.

"What's wrong?" Mr. Cooper was not looking at Luke, but he could tell that Luke still had something to say like he was staring into his eyes.

After a pause, Luke's heart was apprehensive as he quickly said, "There are some bad rumors about you in Atlantic City recently."

Mr. Cooper had personally appeared to negotiate several business deals. With his getup, others inevitably had opinions about it. No one knew who spread the rumors first saying that Mr. Cooper was very ugly and even something like he was a curse to his family.

On the other side, Shaun and Dezi were done playing. When they looked over, they saw the ladies chasing each other, so the boys gave each other a look and shook their heads helplessly at the same time.

Shaun hugged Yvette’s waist and covered Dezi's eyes as he gently kissed her face. "Stop running around, you’ll catch a cold when you sweat in this weather."

As he said that, he simultaneously let go of the two people. Dezi immediately copied Shaun’s action and ran over to hug Lindsey. "Mommy, don’t run around!"

Lindsey still wanted to maintain her serious image in front of her son, so she stopped.

The two ladies were panting. Shaun had one arm around Yvette's waist, while Lindsey was holding Dezi. The four of them walked forward to see if there were any other interesting things in the amusement park.

"Oh right!" Yvette finally caught her breath and excitedly said, “My brother said that there’s a mysterious rich businessman that just came to Atlantic City and made some pretty big business deals.”
