Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 710

Mrs. Wendy had been so focused on the competition she was forced to sign up for. Lindsey noticed that Mrs. Wendy’s little notebook was filled with recipes and she had flipped through it at least thirty times. Even so, Mrs. Wendy still was not sure which dish she wanted to use in the competition.

In the evening, Lindsey took a shower and blew dry her hair, then dragged her slippers to the living room to remind Dezi to wash up and go to bed. She then saw Mrs. Wendy in her reading glasses holding that small notebook. She did not move for a long time.

Lindsey could not help but come over to look at it. She pointed to the colorful drawing of a very appetizing foie gras steak. "French cuisine? Aunt Wendy, are you planning to make this?"

"Huh?" Mrs. Wendy abruptly turned her head and seemed to be shocked by Lindsey's sudden approach. She instantly straightened up and almost bumped into Lindsey's chin.

Lindsey subconsciously dodged backward so that they would not hit each other.

She sized Mrs. Wendy up with surprise and clutched the towel she draped over her head. Her voice was laced with concern as she said, “Are you alright? Are you feeling unwell?”

Lindsey did not notice it earlier, but seeing that Mrs. Wendy’s reaction was so huge, she was probably not reading and was just zoning out.

Mrs. Wendy had been sitting on the sofa with the notebook in her hand since Lindsey went to take a shower.

‘What’s going on?’

Mrs. Wendy closed the notebook and placed it on the side. Her loose, wrinkled skin showed signs of aging. She shook her head and laughed. "I'm fine. I just get tired easily at my old age and somehow fell asleep just now. Were you scared?"

When Mrs. Wendy looked down, she realized that Dezi was also looking at her, so she sat up straighter looking a little disoriented.

Lindsey shook her head and looked at Mrs. Wendy dubiously, but she did not probe further. She reached out to Mrs. Wendy and pulled her up from the sofa, then pushed her back to her room. "If you’re tired, go back to your room and sleep early. It’s already so late! Just make your baked salmon. Dezi said it’s delicious and I think so too. Don't dwell on it."

Earlier at dinner, Mrs. Wendy would also get lost in thought from time to time. Lindsey did not take it to heart at the time, but now that she thought about it, she became more worried.

Mrs. Wendy also looked like this back when Zayn died.

Lindsey watched as Mrs. Wendy laid down in bed before she turned off the lights in her room, leaving only a small night light.

The sound of the door closing was particularly obvious in the quiet space. Lindsey leaned her back against the door and recalled carefully. When she and Dezi left in the morning, Mrs. Wendy did not seem out of the ordinary. What happened to her during the day?

Lindsey thought that she was probably overthinking it. Perhaps Mrs. Wendy was really just tired as she mentioned earlier.

She shook her head, then walked over to check on Dezi.

With so many complicated and overlapping thoughts tonight, it took Lindsey a long time to fall into a deep sleep even with the help of her medication.

"Oh..." The smile on Lindsey's face deepened with some warmth and was no longer that fake smile she plastered on her face. "I heard Dezi talking about her. She’s a very cute little girl."

The first thing that came to mind was what Dezi told her the other day in the car, that "Rowen's dad also said that Mommy was pretty". Lindsey felt a little embarrassed afterward.

"Rowen also mentioned Dezi quite often. She said that he’s very smart and that a lot of teachers and classmates are very fond of him." Harvey had a faint smile and a sincere tone that was not overly exaggerated.

For men of this age, the most attractive thing was their mature temperament in addition to their wealth. If they were not ugly, they would probably attract many young girls who would just cling to them.

However, Lindsey was already past the age of a young girl.

She was indifferent to the mature temperament that Harvey unintentionally revealed and her focus was all on her role as a mother.

No mother would not like her child to be complimented. Although Lindsey could not help but feel a little proud, she modestly said, "Dezi’s a little boring at times and not as lively as Rowen."
