"Clang!" When Lindsey stood up suddenly, she accidentally hit a small celadon spoon that was sticking out of the corner of the table. The spoon fell off the table and shattered on the floor.
However, this little hiccup did not stop Lindsey.
When Arthur looked up, he saw that Lindsey stood up in a hurry and quickly walked to the left.
Arthur froze for a second, then quickly followed Lindsey’s footsteps.
"What's wrong?" He pulled Lindsey's arm from behind. His voice carried a hint of tension.
Hearing Arthur's voice, Lindsey seemed to have snapped back to her senses. In the restaurant, there were a few couples and a small family with a child eating. Other than that, the only people standing were a few waiters and no one else, not to mention the person who was tightly wrapped up from head to toe.
At this time, because of the commotion from Lindsey’s reflex, the guests who were close to their table looked over to them with some amazement.
"It's nothing." Lindsey froze for a moment before she was able to regain her composure. She turned to Arthur and smiled stiffly. "I think I was hallucinating."
Lindsey could not understand what made her get up so suddenly that she subconsciously wanted to find that person.
The moment she saw that figure, her body reacted much faster than her brain.
After sweeping a glance around the restaurant, Lindsey shook her head and returned to her seat under Arthur's puzzled gaze.
The spoon that was broken earlier had been cleaned up by the waiter and replaced with a new one. When Lindsey sat down, she was still a little dazed.
All the noises around them, the sounds of eating or talking, and even arguments, seemed to fade. Just like the food on the table, it was not that warm anymore.
After lunch, Arthur sent Lindsey back to Denarius. Before Lindsey got out of the car, he suddenly called out to her, "Lindsey."
"Hmm?" Lindsey paused in her movements of opening the door and subconsciously turned to look at him. "What's wrong?"
"That person you hallucinated must be important, right?" Arthur's eyes looked like high-quality amber in the sunlight and emitted a faint glow.
He did not show too much concern to Lindsey's sudden weird behavior at the restaurant earlier, but now, he decided to ask her this.
Lindsey pursed her lips and to his surprise, shook her head. “No, just a business partner. I was just surprised to see him in Atlantic City.”
She did not want to explain too much about her reaction just now because she could not even make any sense of it herself. However, she also did not want Arthur to speculate about it.
"By the way." Lindsey thought of something and added, "You probably knew that I never signed the consent form for guardianship of Dezi’s equity in Evans Corporation. Now that managing Denarius is more than enough to keep me busy every day, it’s better if you kept Dezi’s equity first and wait until he’s of age to give it to him. It’s all the same anyway."
Lindsey finally said what she had been hesitant to say this whole journey and felt more relieved. Arthur's fingers on the steering wheel tightened a little. After a long time, he said, "Okay."
She finally let out a sigh of relief and said goodbye to Arthur. Then, she pushed open the car door and got out of the car.
Now, there were a lot of smart robot vacuums on the market. They only produced 10,000 of these when it first hit the market. Since the cost was not cheap, it was expensive and the response was not great.
The designers in Denarius were also constantly trying to use new materials and processes to reduce costs to bring down the price.
Lindsey made a phone call home and arranged for the driver to escort Mrs. Wendy to pick Dezi up from school, then told them that she would be working overtime today.
At around 6:30 am, the employees who were not working overtime had already left. Lindsey finally met Quentin. He sat down and got himself a glass of water before he said, "I thought they placed the wrong order."
Lindsey just had the same doubts.
"But now this robot vacuum is already the optimal performance after taking into account other aspects. If we add any customization, it might affect its performance. I think it’s not worth the risk," Lindsey said.
Quentin raised his hand to drink the last gulp of water. "I also told them this."
Lindsey crossed her long legs and tilted her head slightly to look at Quentin as she asked, "The client insisted?"
"Yeah..." Quentin let out a long sigh. "If they hadn't already paid for this order, I’d be worried that someone’s trying to use this opportunity to trick us."
"Paying doesn’t rule out this possibility." Lindsey looked out the window. The sky was already dark, and from here, she could see that the city was brightly lit.
