The redness on Dezi’s face slowly receded. Since his mother also failed, this made him feel less embarrassed, so his confidence gradually recovered.
"Look, even adults can't do it, at least Mommy can't do it, so there's nothing to be ashamed of. Baby, do you want to try again?" Lindsey laughed and held the remaining two darts in her hand in front of Dezi.
The little one bit his lips and hesitantly reached out to pick up one dart.
"Look at the target, and exert some force on your wrist. You’re still small, so you don’t have much strength in your hands. It doesn’t matter if you can’t touch the board. Come on, let’s try again." Lindsey led Dezi to stand again on the stool and carefully held his hand.
Dezi took less time to prepare this time compared to the last time. He looked at the narrow strip of the second prize and threw the dart with all his might.
This time, the dart hit the bottom of the board, but since the dart only touched the surface of the board, it only stuck on for a few seconds before it fell to the ground.
However, Dezi laughed and excitedly tugged on Lindsey's sleeve. "Mommy, I touched it!"
Lindsey laughed along with him and patted his head. "Baby, you’re doing great!"
The frustration from earlier was swept away and his excitement was visible.
When Lindsey put the last dart into his palm and told him to try again, Dezi shook his head with a smile and said happily, "Mommy, you try. You can definitely do it too!"
Lindsey's heart melted. She wanted to encourage Dezi and did not expect to be encouraged by the little one.
She had no interest in the game and did not care whether she could succeed or not. However, under Dezi’s expectant gaze, she wanted to help Dezi win a prize.
Lindsey straightened up, took a deep breath, and held Dezi's tiny palm. She focused all her strength on her right wrist and threw the dart with force.
The dart landed on the board with a thud.
"Thanks for your patronage." Dezi looked at the spot that Lindsey's dart landed on and read the words on it.
"If only Daddy’s here, he would’ve hit the prize," Dezi suddenly muttered. He came up and kissed Lindsey on the forehead. "Mommy, you did great! You managed to hit the board!"
Lindsey heard Dezi’s mumble and knew that Dezi still wanted to win the prize, but she did not want her sadness to affect everyone’s happiness.
Daddy. This word made the smile on Lindsey's face become a little stiff. She was about to say something when a voice suddenly came from behind her.
"Which one do you want?" It was a deep and melodious voice, which was enough for people to imagine how good-looking the owner of this voice was.
Noticing the undisguised amazement and paused movements of the staff in front of her, Lindsey felt a headache oncoming and turned to look behind her.
"Hello, Brother." Dezi politely greeted him.
The people present were just secretly speculating whether Lindsey and this man were married. After all, the two of them and the child's looks were so stunning, and on closer look, the child and the man resembled each other a little.
Hearing this greeting, everyone understood. They then looked at Lindsey dubiously as they wondered how Lindsey still looked so young when her son was as old as her.
Lindsey felt a little uncomfortable and looked away, then clapped along with the others. Her smile was also a little awkward.
A few minutes later, the crowd dispersed, and Dezi carried a red gift box, which was the calligraphy set that Arthur won for him.
"Dezi, did you thank your brother?" Lindsey took Dezi’s hand and reminded him.
Only then did Dezi wake up from his dream. The corners of his lips still carried an excited smile, and when he looked at Arthur, the bottom of his eyes had an undisguised adoration. "Thanks, Brother!"
"You're welcome." Arthur gently touched Dezi’s head. His tone and action were extraordinarily natural.
Arthur's hair was a little long, so he casually tied it into a small ponytail, which made him look like an artist compared to the CEO of a major corporation.
However, he still looked clean and kempt, unlike other men with medium-length hair. With his blonde hair, he even looked like a character from a comic book.
Arthur casually tucked a strand of hair behind his ear, and secretly laughed when he saw that Lindsey deliberately tried not to look at him. "Have you eaten? I remember that Dezi wanted to eat wagyu last time. I heard there’s a restaurant nearby that’s pretty decent."
The fact that he said it was “pretty decent” meant that the restaurant’s standard was great.
However, Lindsey did not intend to accept Arthur’s invitation and looked doubtful as she said, "Dezi, do you want to eat wagyu? Grandma made beef brisket with mashed potatoes today. Didn't you say you wanted to eat that before you left home this morning?"
Dezi also nodded along. "Yeah, I wanna eat beef brisket with mashed potatoes!"
