Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 621

"I want to see Zayn." Ann's voice was not as charming over the phone. It even sounded a little harsh.

Quentin pondered and changed his tone, which made him naturally sound like he was put in a difficult position. "The president usually won’t see guests at this hour."

The woman's voice immediately came through as she could not accept this statement. "Am I considered a guest?"

Quentin thought to himself, ‘Of course not, you’re no one.’

However, he said, "Of course not, but I’m not sure if I can let you in at this time. Do you want to call the President's private phone?"

Ann was a little annoyed. "If I can get through to him, do I still need to call you?"

"Then perhaps the President is already asleep." Quentin was good at spinning nonsense. "He usually turns off his phone when he's resting."

"Bullsh*t!" Ann laughed in anger. "I'm at the lobby now. Tell them to let me through."

Ann was the President’s soon-to-be wife, but when she came to the office, she still had to ask Zayn’s assistant to let the security guards give way to her. It was such a pity.

Quentin looked at the employees around him who were still eating. He had a feeling that their good days would only last for these two days and would soon come to an end.

After hanging up, Quentin gave a heads up to the security guards and looked glum.

The secretary peeked her head out. "What's wrong? Is she coming up?"

Quentin smacked the girl’s head and said, "Busybody! Go do your work!"

The secretary rolled her eyes at him. "I'm done and I’m leaving right away...hmph!"

Quentin suddenly felt annoyed.

A few minutes later, a crisp sound of high heels rang in his ears. The employees who were still working overtime paused and looked up at the visitor.

There were not many employees who could work on the top floor, and at this hour, there were even fewer of them. All of them already knew what the President's fiancee looked like. When they saw it was Ann, they lowered their heads again.

Ann did not look at anyone and walked to the President's Office door. She coldly glanced at Quentin and knocked on the door. Quentin was thick-skinned enough to ignore her glare. The man's low voice soon came from inside the office, "Come in."

She opened the office door and disappeared from everyone’s sight.

The employees working overtime were in a frenzy as soon as Ann went inside.

"Why is she here?" One of them asked in a whisper.

Another voice sounded, "Who knows? Is she checking on our President to see if he’s cheating?"

"Why would she do that? Getting married to the President is already an honor, why is there still a need to check on him?" This voice surely came from one of Zayn’s many fangirls.

Another female voice echoed, "I also think it’s not necessary. Our President isn’t that kind of person."

Quentin heard enough and pretended to act stern. "What are you guys doing? Do you not want to finish your work and go home tonight?"

The crowd immediately went silent. However, even if they stopped talking, they still thought that Ann certainly had a purpose of coming to find Zayn at this hour. Unfortunately, no one guessed it right.

Zayn nodded and asked the next question without an expression, "When will it arrive?"

"It was initially ready to be sent over in the next few days, but because of some trouble with customs, it got delayed a little, but probably within this month."

Zayn tapped his fingers on his knees and pondered for a moment before he said, "Okay, let me know the specific time of arrival. I'll make the arrangements."

Ann immediately revealed an unconcealed joy and reached out to hug Zayn. "Thanks, Zayn!"

However, she did not get to hug him because Zayn suddenly stood up and looked at her. "By the way, I forgot to ask if you wanted anything to drink."

His action seemed incredibly natural with no trace of deliberate avoidance, but Ann's expression changed and she just smiled slightly. "No thanks."

Zayn did not say anything. After a pause, he said, "Is that why you came here?"

Ann nodded. "This is very important to me. If I don't get it settled properly, it’ll cause a big impact on the company. I just feel too anxious, so I didn’t get to tell you about it sooner." Her tone was sincere and her voice was full of worry.

Zayn nodded again. "Then if there’s nothing else, I'll get my driver to send you back. It's already late." His voice was cold as usual, but the words he said were out of concern for her, so she could not find fault with that.

Ann thought of what she heard before she came and her heart surged with anger, but she just pouted her red lips and looked like she had something to say.

Other men would take the initiative to ask what was wrong, but Zayn was no ordinary man. He just turned his head and pretended not to notice the change in her expression.

Ann just felt like she was flirting with a blind man and felt exasperated.
