Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 611

"You too, right?" Lindsey asked Soren with a smile. Soren hesitated for a moment and finally nodded, then the two could not help but laugh again.

Lindsey continued, "Someone’s dependence can become a habit over time. The day she becomes independent and grows up is clearly what I anticipated, but I can't fool myself. I can’t get used to it and even feel a little sad."

She described it calmly, but everything she said hit all the worries and uneasiness that Soren felt. He was extremely worried about Sieben after she had recovered.

Today, Ginny's words made this uneasiness reach a point where he could no longer remain neutral.

Soren never wanted to admit that all along, his feelings for Sieben were much deeper than Sieben's feelings for him.

Sieben might be dependent on him and was perhaps grateful and touched by the things he did for her, so she trusted him a little more, but Soren was unsure whether she loved him or not. He also dared not ask.

Thus, he just lied to himself so that he did not have to face this problem. He was like an ostrich that buried its head in sand to avoid a sandstorm.

Lindsey did not notice Soren’s emotional changes and continued, “But that’s just how I feel. After all, Sieben’s an independent woman. She has her own character and story, and she’s not really my kid.”

After saying that, Lindsey laughed at herself. "But I still can't help but want to give her the best things, love her, and protect her."

Soren could not help but echo, "Yeah, me too."

"Although we think that after Sieben recovered, she might not be as clingy as before, it’s not necessarily true," Lindsey continued and shrugged her shoulders in an attempt to make the atmosphere less heavy.

"The Sieben I saw when I came yesterday is still so talkative. She’s still so insistent on what she liked and would call my name in a soft, kitten-like voice. She’d pout and make faces, and would be close to us. She didn’t lose her memory. She knows who’s good to her and has gratitude. That’s better than pretending to be close. Although we’ve gotten used to her dependence and childishness during this time, I’d like to believe that she’s also gotten used to treating us as very important people in her life. We’re her family that she can trust and rely on to back her up no matter what."

Lindsey said these words as she looked at Soren. After she finished, she licked the corners of her dry lips and looked at him seriously. "Do you understand what I mean?"

Soren had his hands on his knees. He paused for a moment. Images of Sieben hugging him after waking up, burying her head in his chest, thinking that he was asleep and secretly kissing him, and righteously saying that she had him to remember everything for her, came to mind.

In fact, nothing changed. The girl he loved did not change her attitude towards him because she had recovered her memories. He just thought too much.

He only felt like this because he cared too much for her.

Soren smiled bitterly and thought, ‘This really isn’t like me!’

When he was young, Soren imagined that one day if he found the girl of his dreams, he would boldly ask her if she wanted to go with him.

If the girl was willing, he would take her back to see Old Master Guggenheim. Soren recalled what he was like back then. He was not as calm and reticent as he was now. Back then, he only thought, ‘If she’s not willing, I’ll just carry her back!’

When the day arrived where he finally found the girl of his dreams, he was hesitant and even a little distrusting.

It was true that falling in love made people dumb.

Lindsey just felt suffocated.

She had not felt so ashamed of herself in a long time. This feeling resurfaced in her heart the moment she saw him.

Lindsey nodded and did not say anything. She stood up and pretended to look like she was just about to leave. "Then you guys can talk. I'll leave first."

Last night, Quentin sent dozens of messages to tell Soren of this shocking gossip. Soren ignored the exaggerated parts and filtered out those that were most likely to happen, so he was also aware of what happened last night.

The good thing was that Lindsey was not aware that he knew about it. Otherwise, she would probably dig a hole in the ground and bury herself in it.

Quentin knew that Lindsey was embarrassed and wanted to leave, but he could not let her leave like that. In order to distract Lindsey, he omitted the usual nonsense he liked to say and went straight to the point. "I'm not here to see Sieben. Ms. Juhl, your assistant wants to see you."

The embarrassment under Lindsey's eyes instantly dispersed. She finally felt other emotions. "What?"

Quentin repeated what he had just said. He looked at his watch and pretended to look anxious. "If you don't want to see her, we’ll go through the normal legal procedures and hand her over to the police. The next time you see her may very well be in court."

In the afternoon, Shaun told her that her assistant was with Zayn. At that time, Lindsey had some unspoken feelings.

Of course, she would want to see her assistant. Although Lindsey was the one that was targeted last night, she only knew the outcome, which was embarrassing at that, so Lindsey could not just let it go without knowing the truth.
