Since Arthur said so, Lindsey did not say anything else.
The whole group just stood on the main road and waited for Soren to pick Lindsey up as the weather gradually got colder.
Arthur could have sent Lindsey home, but he saw Lindsey’s attitude of not wanting to be involved with him and suddenly felt annoyed. ‘Whatever, if you wanna wait here, then let’s wait.’
Luckily, Soren came quickly with his people. From afar, he could already see a group of people standing there with a convoy and was shocked. After seeing Arthur's face clearly, a trace of incredulity flashed under his eyes.
Although Lindsey looked disheveled, she looked well and alive and did not seem to be injured badly.
Soren jumped out of the car and stood in front of Lindsey as he sized her up for a moment. "Madam, are you alright?"
When Soren was anxious, he would habitually call Lindsey “Madam”. Lindsey was already used to it, so she just nodded and said, "I'm fine."
He then kicked the person at his feet. "Is this the one who impersonated my driver?"
Soren looked at the bloodied man on the ground. He looked a little surprised, then quickly recollected his emotions. He then ordered someone to drag the man to the car before he asked Lindsey to get in.
Lindsey nodded politely at Arthur. Before she walked away, she was almost wrestled to the ground by a small cannonball that rushed to her from the car.
"Lindsey! Sorie said that you were taken away by bad guys..." Sieben hugged her and sounded aggrieved as she said, "I'll help you fight the bad guys!"
Surprisingly, Soren brought Sieben along. Lindsey reached out and tousled her hair. "It's okay, the bad guys have been defeated. Thanks, Sieben."
After that, Sieben let go of her and looked at her curiously. "Did you beat them up yourself?"
Lindsey looked at Sieben seriously and said, "I knocked him down halfway. This uncle helped me with the rest."
Only then did Sieben realize that a man was standing next to Lindsey. The sky was already dark and Arthur was standing in the shadows. Only his white suit remained conspicuous.
Sieben glanced at him, then pulled Lindsey's hand and even hid behind Soren. "The way this uncle looks at people is kinda like Uncle Z."
Arthur was suddenly called an uncle by a woman who was merely a few years younger than him and was furious. Although he could see that Sieben was slightly different from normal girls, he still wanted to split her head open to check out her brain.
Lindsey was oblivious to Arthur’s reaction and the grudge he had against her because of this. She was only introducing him to Sieben using her usual tone when she spoke to Sieben.
Since Soren was here, Lindsey naturally went with him and Arthur could finally excuse himself because he was just "passing by".
Before getting into the car, Soren glanced at Arthur again, just in time to meet his gaze. He had doubts in his heart, but he did not say anything and quickly took Lindsey away.
"Sir." One of Arthur's subordinates stepped forward and respectfully bowed his head as he asked, "Should we head back?"
Arthur nodded. A moment later, he shook his head and said, "You should go to that reservoir to check it out. Report back to me if there’s anything."
"Yes, sir."
"That man said he was Ann's subordinate," Lindsey said without much emotion except pure confusion. "Why did Ann get someone to take me there? I really want to look for her and ask her this."
Soren did not say anything. Lindsey continued, "Soren, send me to Ann's house first."
Lindsey took a deep breath. She had been inexplicably targeted so many times and wanted an answer. Did Ann really think that Lindsey was a pushover that could just be bullied repeatedly?
Unexpectedly, Soren rubbed his brow while driving and said, "Madam, I think you should just forget about it."
Lindsey's brow wrinkled for a moment, then quickly thought of Zayn. She then thought about Soren and Zayn's relationship...
She had no intention of making things difficult for Soren. She just froze for a moment and quickly said, "Then just drop me and that man off and arrange a car for me later. I'll find her myself."
It was actually not Soren's business. Lindsey just took it for granted earlier.
Lindsey thought that it would be inconvenient to take a taxi with a man who was all tied up. Perhaps she could go back to Opal Suites and drive herself. Lindsey really could not bear being treated like this any longer and made up her mind that she must confront Ann tonight.
Soren sighed helplessly. "Madam, it's not that I don't want to help you."
Lindsey frowned and was about to tell him not to call her “Madam” when Soren continued, "Ms. Ann has also been kidnapped, so she’s not at home now. No one knows where she’s been taken to."
Lindsey's eyes widened. ‘Ann was also kidnapped? How is this possible?!’
