Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 562

For the first time in Zayn's nearly thirty years of life, Zayn had a strange feeling when he heard this word.

Daddy. When this word came out from another little person's mouth, it just tied their relationship together.

This word was quite foreign to Zayn during his childhood as his father never gave him much warmth in his formative years.

Now that the roles were reversed, and he heard another completely independent person calling him “Daddy”, Zayn could not describe his emotions. He had always treated Dezi as his own child and had received Dezi’s dependence and affirmation, but this was the first time Dezi called him “Daddy” out loud.

Zayn should have been more indifferent towards them, but he simply could not control himself.

The waiters nearby were all looking at them, not understanding why the man who was so indifferent just a moment ago was smiling so happily after this child called him “Daddy”.

Lindsey also watched from afar. Zayn's reaction was both expected yet a little out of her expectation. He was happier than any of them, and his clearly visible excitement was not at all like that of a man who was indifferent towards them.

This title made him transform from being a child to taking over the role of a parent.

The father and son only stopped messing around after a long time. Dezi just kept calling Zayn “Daddy” until Zayn gradually calmed down.

When Zayn walked in front of Lindsey, he resumed his usual demeanor. However, there was a joy in his eyes that he could not conceal. He looked at Lindsey and asked, “When did he start talking? How long has he been learning?”

"That time when he was sick." Lindsey inexplicably liked to see Zayn smiling like this, so she unconsciously softened her voice, "He didn’t learn for very long. He even practiced on his own for a long time before he came to see you."

Dezi sat opposite Lindsey and was eating beside Zayn. He ate until there was cream all over his mouth and on the tip of his nose. Zayn pulled out a tissue and carefully wiped his face clean. He could not help but touch the back of his smooth head.

After that, Zayn drank a sip of water before he looked at Lindsey with a solemn expression. "Thank you."

"No need to thank me." Lindsey also took a sip of water and shrugged. "I have to teach him anyway, so I just taught him this in the meantime."

When Zayn heard her words, he smiled for a moment and quickly stopped himself.

He knew that it surely was not so simple. Lindsey also knew that Zayn would not believe her, but she would never admit how many times she taught the little one to say this word when she was alone with Dezi.

Even if they were divorced, the words “mommy” and “daddy” should be learned hand in hand.

The two of them were speechless for a while. Lindsey wanted to ask how Zayn’s injury was, and Zayn wanted to know how Lindsey taught Dezi to speak.

Surprisingly, the two of them spoke at the same time.

"You..."

"You..."

When they saw each other speaking, they both stopped at once. They really thought alike.

Luckily, at this time, the waiter began to serve the food. The exquisitely plated dishes were brought up one by one to ease the awkwardness between them.

Lindsey cleared her throat and looked at Dezi, who buried his head in his school bag. She reminded him. "Dezi, dinner is ready. You can play later."

"Okay, Mommy." Dezi's voice was muffled because his head was stuck in his school bag.

He answered, but he did not turn around immediately and Lindsey did not know what he was looking for in his bag.

She subconsciously looked at Zayn across the table and found that Zayn’s expression was somewhat dumbstruck, but the corners of his lips had an upward curvature.

Zayn picked up the box and took a closer look, then asked Dezi, "You gave Daddy a...umm...blue rose?"

‘It’s even origami. That’s so cute and girlish!’

Dezi did not see anything wrong with this and nodded excitedly. He then stretched out his stubby fingers and gestured as he said, "Two...two flowers!"

Lindsey also took out her origami rose in her box and found that it was identical to Zayn's, besides the color. She probed further, "Did you fold these yourself?"

"Yes." Dezi nodded and added, "Teacher, help."

The kindergarten had arts and crafts class, but they would usually play with playdough or something. This kind of origami was not common, and it was such a complex rose.

"Thank you, baby. Mommy likes it very much," Lindsey said, then glanced at Zayn. Zayn got her hint and also stifled a laugh, then echoed, "Daddy also likes it very much."

Dezi was so happy that he got praised and that Mommy and Daddy liked his gift.

When it was time to eat, the little one was so excited that he was almost dancing.

The six-year-old little guy was the happiest when he was with his mom and dad. Zayn said that he was only free for an hour, but it was already 7:30 pm when they came out of the restaurant.

It had far exceeded his original plan, but his heart’s desires simply could not be bound by time.
