Once Lindsey relaxed after long hours of concentration, she felt a surge of tiredness and could not help but yawn.
She picked up her phone and scrolled through the news.
The temperature in the car gradually rose. Lindsey leaned back and was in a very comfortable posture. She suddenly felt sleepy and her eyelids were getting heavier. When the phone slipped out of her hand, she did not even realize it.
The last few days were too tiring and Lindsey's consciousness gradually lapsed.
Lindsey thought, ‘Yvette will be back soon. I’ll just get some shuteye, otherwise, I won’t be able to drive later.’
Then, Lindsey just fell asleep in the car.
Quentin was following behind Zayn. It was particularly cold outside today. When they left the office and went down to the basement parking lot, Quentin could not help but shiver.
In front of him, Zayn was wearing much less, but he was unmoved and did not look cold at all.
Quentin inhaled a little cold air and followed Zayn towards the parked car.
The light in the parking lot was not very good as some parts were lit while others were dim. Quentin did not want to look at the walking iceberg in front of him, so he casually looked around and saw a somewhat familiar face in a car not far away.
Quentin paused in his footsteps. He was nearsighted, so even with glasses, he could not see very clearly, but this did not prevent him from recognizing Lindsey.
"President," Quentin called out to Zayn. When Zayn stopped and turned to look at him in confusion, Quentin reached out and pointed to a car not far away. "That seems to be Madam. Is she asleep?"
Zayn followed the direction Quentin was pointing at and looked over. Who else could it be if not Lindsey?
Just as Quentin said, Lindsey was sleeping in the car with the heating on.
Not moving!
Zayn suddenly felt a surge of anger, but it was quickly quelled by the cold. Then, he just felt that his entire body and heart turned to ice.
He did not think much and rushed up in a moment to pound on Lindsey’s car window.
"Lindsey! Wake up!" His voice was loud and his eyes were wide open with fear.
Lindsey felt like she had just fallen asleep when there was a loud noise from outside, pulling her out of her dream.
She opened her eyes in a daze and found that she was neither in her bed at home, nor was it thundering outside. Someone was just pounding on her window.
Lindsey was still confused and saw the look on Zayn's face, which changed from panic to a kind of unspeakable horror, then to relief.
In the next second, he continued tapping on the car window.
Lindsey was completely awake and lowered the car window. "What do you want?"
Right after she said that, she could hear Zayn’s thunderous voice that was extremely stern. “Lindsey Juhl, do you want to die?!”
Lindsey was stunned. Before she could reflect on the situation, she saw Zayn pulling her car door open, then he dragged her out roughly. "Are you dumb?! Did you forget all the basic knowledge that you learned when you took your driving license? Do you know how dangerous it is to sleep in the car with the heating on? If something happens to you, what will happen to Dezi? You..."
Zayn's aggressive stance suddenly got stuck.
With Lindsey looking like this, Zayn’s wrath dissipated in an instant.
Zayn paced around with his fists clenched. He relaxed his hands and was just about to say something when a cheerful female voice suddenly came from behind him, "Lindsey! I found it, let's go!"
Yvette was running while she shouted. From the angle she came from, Zayn was blocked behind a pillar, so she could only see Lindsey standing outside the car without a jacket.
She was still wondering why Lindsey was standing outside the car without her jacket when she saw Zayn in front of Lindsey right after she walked around a car.
Yvette quickly stopped in her tracks.
She somehow felt that the atmosphere between the two of them was not right and that the timing of her arrival was not great.
However, it was too late to retreat now.
When Lindsey saw Yvette, she smiled and said, "Get in the car!"
After that, Lindsey nodded at Zayn and turned to get into the car.
Yvette smiled bitterly and greeted Zayn. "Zayn."
She then quickly climbed into the car. She felt that Zayn's eyes were so cold that they looked a little murderous.
To protect himself, Quentin was smart enough to have the foresight to hide far away from Zayn along with his other subordinates so that Zayn’s wrath would not reach them. It was not until Lindsey’s car was long gone that Quentin reappeared by Zayn’s side.
