Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 51

"Shaun, why did you come over?" Afraid that Shaun would be waiting for her too long, Lindsey was still panting a little when she stood in front of him.

"I came to see you. Get in the car first. There’s no need to rush next time." Shaun said as he naturally reached over to take Lindsey’s bags.

"I’ll treat you to dinner today. What do you want to eat?"

Lindsey lost her smile and asked, "Why are you treating me for?"

"You don’t like it? It’s to congratulate you for being in charge of such a big project." Speaking of this, Shaun's expression turned glum. He turned his head to the side so that Lindsey would not see it.

The two of them went to the French restaurant where they first ate. Shaun was always impeccable in taking care of Lindsey, ordering all her favorites.

"Brother, the company didn't give you a hard time, did they?" Lindsey was worried about Shaun's situation.

"Linds, you underestimate me too much." Shaun smiled, but his smile did not reach his eyes.

"I’m sorry I didn’t protect you well this time." Shaun could not help but feel the bitterness in his heart just thinking about Lindsey working for Zayn every day.

Lindsey quickly said, "How is this your fault? This is the company's decision and it's not your decision to make in the first place."

Moreover, Zayn Guggenheim was a determined person. If they did not agree, he would still find other means.

Lindsey thought about it and sighed.

"Also, I dragged you guys into this mess. Zayn just wants to see me in pain. That's why he did that to the company."

"It's not..." Shaun wanted to say something, but he stopped and continued, "Forget it. Let's not talk about this."

"Linds." Shaun suddenly reached out to hold Lindsey's hand on the table.

Lindsey was a little uncomfortable and wanted to pull her hand back as this action was a little too intimate. However, even though Shaun looked gentle, his grip was extraordinarily strong.

"Shaun, you..." Lindsey looked up at him with some surprise.

"Linds, I have something to say to you." Shaun looked into her eyes. As someone who was always strategizing, he suddenly felt nervous.

"Big brother, you..."

"Linds, listen to me. Don’t panic and listen to what I have to say."

Lindsey subconsciously felt that she would not want to hear what Shaun wanted to tell her.

“Linds, we’re not related by blood, right?” Shaun looked at Lindsey with a burning gaze. When Lindsey was just about to answer, Shaun added, "You’ve also broken all ties with the Juhls, right?

"Linds, I can't bear to see you work so hard and I don't want to see you get bullied by others. I want to protect you and take care of you, not as your brother, but as a man."

As a man who could stand by your side.

"I like you, so will you please let me take care of you?"

Shaun did not want to wait any longer. The girl he had protected for so many years was married to another man. If she was in a happy marriage, then that would have been fine, but that clearly was not the case.

He did not want to stand behind her anymore and could not wait to change their relationship between them. What Zayn did also made him feel insecure.

"Big brother." Lindsey did not expect Shaun to say this to her out of the blue. With some force, she finally broke away from his grip.

Shaun looked upset and subconsciously curled his fingers, trying to retain the warmth he had just felt.

Lindsey did not dare to look directly at Shaun's gaze and lowered her head as she said word by word, "Big brother, I'm already married."

"Do you love him?" Shaun, however, did not want to back down.
