Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 507

The two of them were so far apart that Soren did not need to tell Sieben what he was up to.

Lindsey waited until the evening when Dezi got out of school, but she still had not received Soren’s call. Instead, she met Shaun who picked Dezi up from school.

Shaun already told Lindsey in advance that he would be picking Dezi up. When he came over, he also brought a contract.

"This is the contract for the project I told you about this afternoon. Take a look." Shaun handed the document to Lindsey.

After saying that, he took out another document from his bag. "This is the employment contract between you and Hemera that I had my assistant churn out this afternoon. The investment amount in this project is up to you, and the shares will be split sixty-forty. Besides this project, you’re also the Head of the Consulting Department in Hemera. I specially made a three-year contract for you. After three years, you can decide if you want to renew the contract. How’s that?"

Shaun was smiling brightly and Lindsey was just dumbfounded by his spendthrift attitude. "Brother, this will just confirm your favoritism towards me."

"Well, aren’t you always?" Shaun squinted and teased her.

Lindsey waved her hand. "No. This won’t be good for you."

As she said this, she tapped on the contract on the table. “Also, how can an investor take 60% of the project’s revenue? It’s not reasonable.”

They should draw a clear line between business and personal matters. Lindsey knew that Shaun wanted to take care of her and did not want her to lose out, but this was too much. Shaun did not care about it much and waved his hand. “Since I gave it to you, just accept it.”

Shaun was like a wealthy and generous boss.

He was so generous, but Lindsey was reluctant to accept it and dwelled on this issue for a long time. In the end, Shaun could not win her over and agreed to change the 60% to 40%.

Although it was still a bit much, it was easier to accept than the previous 60%.

Finally, Lindsey went through her employment contract and the project's contract carefully to make sure nothing was missing before signing her name on it.

As the Head of the Consulting Department at Hemera, Lindsey felt that she was not quite capable enough, but being in a high position often challenged one's abilities more, so there was no need to turn down such a good opportunity to improve herself.

Shaun also signed his name on it, so the contracts immediately took effect. "The company will prepare an office for you, but you don’t need to go into the office every day. Since you’re the leader for this project, you need to follow through from the beginning to the end, so it might get a little tough."

As a boss, Shaun obviously did not coddle Lindsey. He did not tell her that she could quit if it was tough or she could hire another assistant.

Lindsey was very satisfied with Shaun's professional attitude. If Shaun just treated her as a vase and only wanted to take care of her because of her current situation, Lindsey would be very uncomfortable.

This matter was settled hastily just like that. At night, when Lindsey was watching the news, she noticed that the upcoming merger between Denarius and S.P. Corporation had already become the talk of the town.

Lindsey pretended not to see it and quickly changed the channel before Dezi's attention was drawn to the news.

At night, Dezi looked out the window for a long time and picked up the small binoculars that Lindsey bought for him to look downstairs.

"Nothing." Soren's breathing returned to normal. "It's just a bit chaotic over here, nothing major. Did you call yesterday? Is something wrong?"

Hearing that Soren’s voice returned to normal, Lindsey somehow felt relieved. "Nothing’s wrong. I just wanted to ask you about my biological parents. Did you find out where they went?"

During this time, so many things happened one after another that Lindsey felt a little nervous.

Soren pondered for a while, not knowing if he was trying to recall it or busy with something. He paused for a while before saying, "We didn't find anything last time. It was like they just vanished and left no traces."

Lindsey was not surprised by this result. If there was any information, she would have known about it long ago and did not need to wait until now to ask Soren. She rubbed the corner of her eyes. "I think I saw my biological father yesterday."

She still could not call him “Dad”.

Lindsey no longer cared for these so-called parental ties. She did not obsess over it and had cut off her expectations a long time ago.

If there was no expectation, then she would not be so easily disappointed.

When Soren heard this, he became alert. “Where did you see him? What was he wearing? Was he with someone else?”

Lindsey tried to recall it for a while, but she did not remember much. Luckily, Soren's questions were not testing her memory too much. She thought about it and answered, "At the south entrance of Chopin Avenue. He was wearing a long gray coat and black pants that looked a bit old and shabby. He was alone and I didn’t see anyone else around."
