Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 492

Dezi was not so frank this time. He let go of Shaun, then looked around.

Lindsey stepped forward and took him by the shoulders. "Daddy still has work to do. We’ve already taken up a lot of Daddy’s time today because he was taking care of you. We can't disturb Daddy’s work, right? Dezi, be a good boy."

Even though Dezi’s heart was very reluctant, he also knew not to trouble his father. He had always been very understanding.

Zayn wanted to say that he did not have work to do and was not busy at all. Even if he did, he could just push it till tomorrow morning, but with Lindsey’s clear expulsion order, he could not bring himself to say these words.

He still could not ignore Lindsey's feelings.

Dezi squirmed over to Zayn, then buried his head into Zayn’s chest as he hugged Zayn’s neck longingly.

Zayn’s heart that was as cold as ice melted in an instant.

He leaned over and whispered gently in Dezi’s ear, “After Daddy settled these things, I’ll accompany you every day, okay? Listen to Mommy and wait for Daddy, okay?”

Lindsey could not bear to look at the scene in front of her and turned her head away, but she could still hear Zayn’s voice clearly.

Dezi nodded obediently and stood up. He kissed Zayn on the cheek, just like how he kissed Shaun, then pushed Zayn away and signed, "I'll wait for Daddy to come back."

Zayn’s throat tightened for a while. He let out a short “mm” and his gaze unconsciously fell on Lindsey again. However, Lindsey had already picked Dezi up and did not even look at him.

"I won't send you out." Lindsey squatted and helped Dezi to put together the Lego castle that he just built. Her head was lowered and she looked very focused.

Shaun deliberately walked behind Zayn. After Zayn went out, Shaun immediately walked out and pulled the door shut.

"Let's talk." Shaun pushed his glasses up and looked at Zayn, then made an inviting gesture.

"Talk about what?" Zayn looked dull and did not look like he wanted to talk to him. He just walked towards the elevator.

Shaun caught up with him and walked side by side with Zayn. "Talk about Lindsey, Dezi, and you."

Zayn stood there waiting for the elevator. His tall and big build in such an environment looked a little out of place. He then turned to look at Shaun and cracked his wrists. "Actually, I also wanted to talk to you."

"Zayn Guggenheim, I’m not looking for a fight." Shaun looked at him seriously. "I want to talk to you seriously. Is there something that you’re hiding from Dezi and Lindsey? I'm asking you for the last time."

Zayn also raised his eyes to look at him. After a long time, he averted his gaze. His thin lips parted slightly as he faintly spat out, "No."

The elevator arrived at the right time and Zayn stepped inside.

The two men looked at each other across the elevator gap. Shaun sighed slowly and his voice was seemingly absent. "Just don't regret your decision."

Shaun had done his best to help these two, but since this man was so uncooperative, he did not want his efforts to be in vain. If he knew that Zayn would say this, he would have beaten Zayn up earlier and would have felt more comfortable, then he would not have to waste his breath on him.

He was frustrated with Zayn because Zayn would not say anything no matter what, even though his actions were so clear.

They all tacitly ignored the fact that Zayn and Ann were about to get engaged, whether it was in front of Lindsey or not.

Even though she said this, Lindsey still looked at the door surveillance camera to see who dropped it off. She saw that it was a delivery man that left it at their door.

Lindsey even called the delivery company to verify. The company said that someone asked them to send it this morning. They did a scan and found that it was a piece of paper, but they were not sure of the paper’s contents.

She shrugged her shoulders at Mrs. Wendy. "I’ll open it. It's probably a mysterious gift from an 'old friend'."

Lindsey was still in the mood to joke, so Mrs. Wendy was not so worried anymore.

She found a pair of scissors, then carefully cut along the tape and opened the box, only to find that there was a pink invitation with a gold stamp.

Lindsey was not at all unfamiliar with this.

The relaxation on her face gradually disappeared and her smile faded little by little, but she still opened the invitation.

The two names, Zayn and Ann, were reflected in her eyes. What else could it be if not an invitation to their engagement ceremony?

Mrs. Wendy also saw it and was furious. She thought that it was Zayn’s doing and cussed him out.

Lindsey’s chest heaved violently, but she quickly regained composure. Perhaps because Mrs. Wendy had already cussed at Zayn, Lindsey did not feel so angry. She just felt that the dust had settled and that day had finally arrived.

She knew that even if she did not pay attention to the news, Ann would definitely look for her.
