Lindsey's mind was so tense that her voice was also taut. "Who wants to kill you? Where are you? I'm coming to you now."
On the other side of the phone, Ginny hurriedly told her an address. Lindsey could hear the panic in Ginny’s trembling voice and did not hang up the phone. The call was still connected as Lindsey hurriedly took Sieben and rushed to the place Ginny was at.
It was an old area near the port of Atlantic City where there was talk of demolition. There were traces of illegal activities everywhere. When she walked down the alley, the smell was simply horrifying.
Lindsey did not take a cab and drove there. She drove to the nearest intersection from Ginny’s place and could not go any further by car.
Sieben was eating a lollipop in the passenger seat. When she got out of the car with Lindsey, her expression changed.
She tugged on Lindsey’s sleeve and wrinkled her nose. “It stinks here!”
Sieben subconsciously whispered and sounded nervous. This was the first time Lindsey saw her looking so wary. She stopped in her footsteps and took her phone that she was holding. The only sound that came from the other side was Ginny's short breathing.
Lindsey gulped and felt extremely anxious. She carefully sniffed the air and found that there were too many smells that were complex. It really did not smell good.
She subconsciously felt that the stench Sieben mentioned and the stench that she smelled were not the same thing because her sense of smell was a lot inferior to Sieben's.
"Lindsey, are we going in?" Sieben played with the lollipop in her mouth and her eyebrows were furrowed.
Lindsey thought about the address Ginny gave her, 83 Fuller’s Lane. They were at Fuller’s Lane, but Lindsey did not know where lot 83 was. She gritted her teeth. Although her heart was beating fast, she still nodded. "Let’s go."
Ginny was in a panic. Without asking, Lindsey could already guess that those were the people who wanted to kill Ginny. Lindsey did not delay further and held Sieben’s hand. “Wait for me here.”
After saying that, she ran inside the alley.
Soon, she was pulled from behind. Sieben held her hand and sounded firm even though her tone was childish, the words that came out were inexplicably convincing. "I can protect you."
"No, just wait for me here." Lindsey wanted to shake her off, but Sieben's grip was so strong that Lindsey could not move.
"Don't talk. We’re out of time." Sieben's eyes were fixated on a certain place not far ahead.
