Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 463

"What exactly is going on with Zayn and Ann? Soren, I want you to tell me the truth." Lindsey's tone was serious as she continued, "There’s no way I can fully believe what Zayn said."

Lindsey did not want to admit that she still had a little hope in her heart. When she asked the question, her throat was so tense that she trembled a little.

After she asked this, Soren, and Zayn, who was listening in on their conversation through the earbuds in Soren's ears, froze.

They both thought that Lindsey had given up on Zayn. Did this mean that she still did not give up yet?

Zayn did not know what he was feeling. He wanted to laugh, but could not. He felt touched and guilty that his heart felt bitter.

Soren did not dare to tell the truth. Even if he knew, it was not his place to tell Lindsey, not to mention, Zayn was still listening in on their conversation.

"I’m not sure. The President didn’t tell me about it," Soren finally said after being stunned.

"So are they really in a relationship?" Lindsey slowly asked again. Soren wanted to say no, but he thought of Zayn's approach and their scandals, so he shut his mouth.

Seeing Soren looking so torn, Lindsey understood the situation. When Soren was about to speak, she waved her hand and said, “Alright, you don’t have to say it. I know.”

Lindsey looked a little relieved and sad. Her voice sounded like a sigh as she said, "That’s good."

"Madam..." Soren thought that he should say something. "It’s better not to ask and draw a conclusion for uncertain things."

Lindsey raised her eyes to look at him, but her eyes were clearly distant. After a long time, she slowly said, "What if I want to make things clear and draw a conclusion? No, wait. I’ve already gotten my answer. I don't know what he wants to do, but since we're already divorced, I hope he won't bother me and my child again." After saying that, Lindsey glanced at the earbuds in Soren's ears, then smiled and said, "Let’s not talk about it. It’s such a buzzkill."

In the evening, Shaun picked up Dezi from school. When Dezi opened the door and saw Sieben, both of them were overjoyed.

Lindsey felt amused. These two were essentially the same age mentally and they were the only ones who could communicate with each other well.

The two children, one big and one small, soon played together. Shaun wanted to leave, but Lindsey asked him to stay for dinner.

"You're alone when you go back, so why don't you stay here and eat before you go?" Lindsey dragged him to take a seat.

Lindsey got up and poured a glass of water for Shaun, then sat opposite him. "I remember when you were in the hospital the other day, you mentioned that there was something wrong with Hemera's finances. How is it going lately?"

At the mention of this, Shaun’s face turned dull, and replied, “There’s a mole in the company that’s been doing this deliberately. We’ve already found him."

Lindsey did not expect this. Hemera’s culture was not the best. If it was not for Shaun's good leadership, this lot would have caused the company to go bust.

Since Shaun had always been a kind leader and did not take much of a stance, those people thought that they could step all over him.

"I plan to do some restructuring in the company." Shaun said lightly, "Some employees might just get retrenched."

Lindsey's eyes flickered. If Shaun made such a decision, it meant that this time, someone had really touched his bottom line.

As she said that, her eyes turned red, but she did not want to be seen like this, so she pretended that she was alright and turned her head. She also reached out to cover her eyes.

"You can be a bit more capricious, you know. You repress yourself too much." Shaun gave her a tissue and said softly, "Just cry if you want to."

Lindsey sniffled and wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes with the tissue. She then laughed and said, "I'm not a little girl anymore, so how can I just be capricious?"

"It's strange...I didn't cry so much last time." Lindsey mocked herself. "Now I'm more of a crybaby than Dezi."

Shaun wanted to say that perhaps Zayn really had a reason, but such words might not even be comforting. After all, speculation was not as impactful as reality.

A certain thought in his mind became more firm. Shaun covered his eyes, concealing the emotions in them.

Lindsey quickly regained composure and did not want to talk about this topic any longer. She also did not dare to ask Shaun about his situation with Yvette. When she saw Shaun looking at Dezi with doting eyes, Lindsey told him a few interesting stories about Dezi.

Shaun stayed for dinner before he went home. He carried Dezi to the elevator lobby with Lindsey following closely behind.

He teased Dezi. "Do you want to go home with Uncle Shaun tonight? I’ll send you to school tomorrow."

Lindsey smiled at the interaction between the two. Little Dezi looked at Lindsey and Shaun several times. He then blinked his round eyes and decisively reached out his hand towards Lindsey.

"Little brat." Shaun could not resist slapping Dezi's butt.
