"Quentin, contact the person in charge of the Hemera deal to confirm our cooperation, but on one condition. Name Lindsey Juhl from their consulting department to be the person in charge of this project."
After conducting the meeting mindlessly and approving the proposals made by several senior executives, Zayn instructed his assistant who was following him while he walked.
"Okay." Quentin replied as he secretly thought, ‘Has Mr. Guggenheim become soft-hearted? Ms. Juhl is indeed different!’
He then saw Zayn's stern face and thought of the company executives who were afraid to lift their heads to look Zayn in the eye. Quentin felt that he should get on Ms. Juhl’s good side if he wanted to get Zayn in a good mood in the future.
The old man was not at home these days as he had gone to Salem City to visit his old friend. Lindsey was secretly relieved at that because if the old man was home, she would have to cover up what was going on and she truly did not have the patience to play nice with Zayn.
The maid did not expect her to come back so early.
"Madam, please wait for a moment. Dinner is not ready yet."
"It's okay. I'm not eating. There's no need to call me later." Lindsey was physically and mentally exhausted. She dragged her feet upstairs, locked the door behind her, and wrapped herself in the quilt, emptying all her thoughts.
The chill emitted by Zayn throughout the day made everyone in Denarius unnerved.
It was finally almost time to leave when Jenny elegantly got up to knock on the door of the President's office. Everyone thought that Ms. Lenig was truly worthy of being the President’s woman because her boldness was unmatched.
Quentin stood at the door and watched Jenny walk in, then kindly helped her to close the door. He then turned his head away, but in his heart, he was silently praying for her.
"Zayn, it's time to get off work. Let's have dinner together." Jenny smiled at Zayn sweetly.
Unfortunately, she was leering at a blind man as Zayn did not even lift his head. He said, "Grandpa’s at home."
What he meant by this was he would go home and accompany the old man for dinner.
Jenny bit her lip as she did not know what to say to that. These three words were something she could not challenge.
These days, Zayn had not been paying much attention to her and she was smart enough to know that some things should not be rushed.
There was still a long way ahead of them. As long as she keeps a favorable position, there would be plenty of opportunities.
"Then you should go home and accompany Grandpa. I'll leave first." After she said that, she slowly walked out of the office, but Zayn remained motionless behind her.
Quentin sat at his desk and saw Jenny walk out of the office alone after a few short minutes. He secretly sighed that his boss’ ability to distance himself from others improved yet again. It also seemed like Ms. Lenig might not last long.
Zayn worked until it was very late. He felt inexplicably irritable. Whenever he thought of Lindsey forcing herself not to cry, he felt an indescribable rage and had nowhere to vent it.
When he got home, it was quiet and dark. That woman even dared to shut him out of the room.
Zayn could not bring himself to knock on the door for her to let him in, so he went back to the office to spend the night.
He tried to use this method to stimulate Lindsey, but unfortunately, she did not even notice that he was not home.
The next day at work, Lindsey heard that Denarius suddenly decided to cooperate with Hemera and her jaw dropped in shock.
"Lindsey, come with me." The Director suddenly said as he passed by Lindsey’s desk.
After being scolded the day before and talking back to her boss, Lindsey was inevitably a bit jittery.
