Yvette looked at Finn Moeller standing in the doorway, then at Shaun’s sudden change of attitude. Her originally frozen expression turned cold.
"You're not late." Yvette went forward and took the flowers from Finn. She said coldly, "Thank you, Mr. Moeller. It's crowded in here, so I won't invite you to come in and sit."
The smile on Finn's face froze because Yvette was so direct.
Yvette did not care about his thoughts and walked over to Shaun. “Mr. Juhl, didn’t you say that you had something to do? Why don't you leave with Mr. Moeller? My room’s quite small, so it can’t fit the both of you.”
She drove two suitors away at once. No matter what these two men had in mind, she did not want to give them a chance.
Shaun, who was pleased with her cold attitude towards Finn, was stunned for a moment when it was his turn to be kicked out.
Lindsey felt the tension in the air and was about to say something to lighten the mood, but she saw Callum stand up.
Callum had just been happily drinking his bowl of chicken soup and even tried to grab the rest from Sieben. He was really mentally three years old. This time, he wiped his mouth and stood up. He walked over to Shaun and grabbed his shoulders. "Yvette’s right. How can you just stay in a lady's ward like this?"
He dragged Shaun out as he said this. When he got to the door, he put his other hand on Finn's shoulder and said, “Let's grab a drink. We haven't had a drink in a long time, right, Shaun? We've known each other for so long and I haven’t even been a good host to Finn. Let’s go get drunk!”
Callum left with the two men. After they walked out of the room, Yvette slammed the door, which frightened Dezi.
Lindsey thought of Shaun and Finn’s identity and asked uneasily, "It’ll be okay for them to grab drinks, right?"
Yvette waved her hand. "Don't worry, my brother knows what to do."
As a woman, Lindsey could probably guess why Yvette was mad and understood her, but Lindsey was not confident in Callum's sense of propriety.
In the evening, the Wendell family’s driver came to pick Yvette up from the hospital. Lindsey took Sieben and Dezi with her and sent Yvette off. Yvette was in the car and rolled down the window as she said to Lindsey, “Oh right! My brother’s hosting a small party at home in a few days. You’ll have to come with the kids!”
Lindsey nodded. Although she was not really in the mood to attend parties, she had Dezi now and it was good for him to mingle around with more people to boost his confidence.
After receiving an affirmative answer, Yvette left.
The next day, Lindsey was discharged from the hospital. Quentin carried Dezi to the car and helped Lindsey with her luggage. After everyone was seated, he drove them back to Jade Garden.
Lindsey sat in the passenger seat, with Sieben and Dezi in the back. Soon after she got into the car, she reached out her hand towards Quentin. "Lend me your phone."
Quentin did not think much of it. He unlocked his phone and handed it over. He concentrated on the road and glanced at Lindsey. "Madam, what do you want to do?"
Lindsey found a certain number in the call log and said without raising her head, "Call Zayn."
"Huh?" Quentin almost stepped on the gas pedal as if it was the emergency brake.
He was dripping cold sweat. Just in time, they were at a traffic light. Quentin nearly stopped the car. He smiled bitterly but did not dare to speak.
Next to him, Lindsey glanced at him and put the phone to her ear.
Lindsey rubbed her brow. "I'm fine."
It was still early when they arrived at Jade Garden, so Quentin helped Lindsey with her luggage and ran right into Mrs. Wendy. Mrs. Wendy glared at Quentin viciously. Once Lindsey brought Dezi upstairs for a nap, Mrs. Wendy grabbed Quentin’s arm and said, “Quentin, tell me what’s going on. What is Zayn trying to do? Everything was going well, so why is he creating trouble?”
Quentin wanted to say, “How would I know what the President’s trying to do?” However, he dared not talk back to Mrs. Wendy.
Mrs. Wendy dragged him aside and nagged at him. She was old and liked to nag. Since she did not see Zayn, she could only have a go at Quentin.
She only let go of Quentin when Lindsey came downstairs. Mrs. Wendy looked completely different in front of Lindsey with a bright smile. “You lost weight again, come over and have some soup. We need to fatten you up.”
After saying that, Mrs. Wendy glared at Quentin. "Come."
The aroma of the food had been wafting out of the kitchen. Quentin grew up eating Mrs. Wendy’s food since he was a child. He moved out on his own later and really missed this smell.
Lindsey also said, "Eat before you go. There's no hurry to leave."
Quentin was never one to pretend to be polite. Although he got an earful from Mrs. Wendy earlier, he still got to eat her food.
Lindsey never mentioned Zayn again because she was worried about getting Mrs. Wendy worked up at her age. When Quentin was ready to leave, Lindsey sent him out and said, "Go back and tell Zayn that if he doesn’t give me a justifiable reason, I won’t agree to the divorce."
Quentin quickly nodded and promised to relay this message to the President word for word.
