Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 423

It was clearly a premature baby as it was a little smaller than other newborn babies. The Moeller family's relations were complicated, so Lindsey did not say much in front of Finn and only said that the child was cute.

"It's late. I'll send you back, Mrs. Guggenheim." Finn looked out the window and suggested.

Lindsey also followed his gaze and looked over. It was early summer. They chatted so long that the sky was already dark. Lindsey felt Yvette’s small movements beside her, so she smiled and shook her head. "No, thanks. I’m going shopping. Yvette, will you accompany me?"

Yvette smiled and immediately nodded. "Yes, it just so happens that my brother asked me to get him a Children's Day gift. I’ll go with you."

"Callum is celebrating Children's Day?" Finn asked in disbelief.

Yvette nodded. "Yes, you have a problem with that?"

Finn was speechless. After they sent him away, Yvette let out a long breath. "Finally, he’s gone!"

Lindsey turned to Yvette and pinched her nose. "You don't have to force yourself if you don't like him."

"I'm not forcing it." Yvette wrinkled her nose. "If he didn't tell me that he had a reliable lawyer, I wouldn't have met him at all."

Yvette looked disgusted by Finn, but Lindsey thought she was cute and her mood was lifted.

Seeing Lindsey smile so brightly, Yvette could not help but praise her. "Lindsey, you’re so beautiful!"

Lindsey was stunned and looked down at her outfit. She was wearing a pair of nude flats and a white dress she picked at random. Her hair was also loosely pulled back into a ponytail. She could not have looked more ordinary.

Seeing Yvette's gaze darken, Lindsey sighed and smiled. "You’re also very pretty. You’re beautiful inside and out."

Although Lindsey did not care about the rumors with Shaun, Lindsey knew that Yvette liked Shaun, so Yvette would certainly feel uncomfortable seeing those tabloids.

Lindsey held Yvette’s arm and casually said, “There are too many things going on now and my brother’s been dragged into this mess because of me. He was so nice to let me stay in his villa, but those paparazzi spread groundless rumors about us that made Shaun quite distressed lately.”

Yvette did not say anything and stared at the pattern of the tiles on the floor. After a long time, she said, "What's he so distressed about anyway?!"

Her tone was almost expressing her disdain for Shaun.

Lindsey stopped hinting at her and patted Yvette’s hand. "My dear Yvette, my brother may be bad at expressing his feelings, but I can tell that he cares a lot about you. Why don’t you give him another chance?"

If it was another person, Lindsey would feel that it would be inappropriate for her to say this when her scandal with Shaun was still a hot topic. However, since Yvette was still willing to help her, it meant that Yvette was not bothered about this gossip either. Yvette had always been able to think objectively.

Lindsey just thought that if Shaun were to let go of such a kind-hearted, warm, and intelligent girl like Yvette, he would be making a big mistake.

Yvette was silent for a long time. After a while, she finally said in a low and slightly hoarse voice, "Lindsey, some things are better left in the past."

Lindsey did not know how to respond for a while. Yvette’s misunderstanding was obviously much deeper than Shaun thought. Perhaps the two of them were hung up on completely different issues.

Looking at Yvette, she did not want to talk about it, so Lindsey did not probe further and patted her shoulder. "Just do what you think is right and don't regret your choices."

Lindsey knew that it was useless to say this, but she really did not know how to persuade Yvette.

"The lawyer’s coming over tomorrow, right? Just in time for me to go home." As Zayn said this, he looked up at Felipe with a provocative look in his eyes.

Felipe smiled lightly. "Mm, Mr. Guggenheim, you can go home."

Shortly after, he added, "However, there’s one more thing that needs your cooperation."

Zayn's face turned gloomy. Felipe gently leaned against the wall and the emotion in his eyes was indistinct.

The next day.

Owen went to the police station as Zayn's lawyer today. Lindsey got up early and was a nervous wreck.

Everything was still unknown. They did not have to go to the police station and just needed to wait for the news at home.

Mrs. Wendy was also infected by Lindsey’s nervousness. She sighed and said that luckily Dezi had gone to school, otherwise, he would have been dizzy from watching Lindsey pace around the room.

Lindsey smiled bitterly. She also knew that it was useless to be so anxious, but she just could not control herself.

"Hey, Madam, look! Is that the Master on TV?" Mrs. Wendy suddenly pointed at the big screen in the living room.

Lindsey looked up and saw Zayn's face on the screen.
