Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 396

This was the first time Dezi saw so many kids his age since he came out of the orphanage. Compared to other children, he was much more timid. He clutched Lindsey's hand tightly and shrunk beside her, but there was clearly a longing in his eyes.

Lindsey gestured for Zayn to pick Dezi up. She helped him to straighten his hat which was a bit lopsided and asked softly, "What do you want to play? Mommy and Daddy will play with you, okay?"

Dezi's lips were pursed. After a long time, he shook his head.

Lindsey sighed in her heart and smiled. She pointed to the carousel next to them. "Shall we go on this one? Mommy wants to try this!"

Dezi wrinkled his little nose, but Lindsey looked at him with a burning gaze. After a while, the little guy in front of her nodded gently.

"That’s my baby!" Lindsey was so happy that she reached out to hold Dezi's little face and could not help but kiss him on his forehead.

Lindsey ignored Zayn’s furrowed brow and pulled them over to the carousel. She carried Dezi while Zayn sat on the wooden horse behind them.

Zayn was reluctant and looked so glum that the staff looked at him several times. However, their family of three was simply the best looking in the park, so they got a lot of attention. In the beginning, Dezi would hide in Lindsey's arms, but after a few rounds, he gradually got used to it and raised his head to look around.

"Are you having fun?" Lindsey was enjoying the ride and did not forget to ask Zayn behind her.

Zayn did not answer her and turned his head away.

The next thing they played was bumper cars. Lindsey's sense of direction was not great and hit the guardrail several times. In the end, Dezi even looked at her with a bit of panic.

Lindsey laughed awkwardly. "It's my first time playing, so it’s normal to be bad at it. Dezi, do you still want to play?"

He shook his little head repeatedly. Although he did not say a word, what he meant was obvious, “No more! Absolutely no more! Mommy’s a terrible driver!”

Even though Lindsey was made fun of, she was still in high spirits as she dragged one big and one little man through the playground. She was only willing to go back when she was tired.

Although Zayn's face was gloomy throughout, he still accompanied them until the end.

On the way home, Lindsey sat next to Zayn while Dezi fell asleep in Lindsey’s lap not long after they got in the car.

Suddenly, Lindsey felt an arm reach over. She looked over and saw Zayn looking down at her. “Lean on me for a bit. I’ll wake you up when we get home.”

After he said that, he could not resist pecking Lindsey on the lips. Before he could pull away, Lindsey kissed him back and smiled cheekily. “Okay.”

Lindsey got into a comfortable position and leaned on Zayn’s chest as she held Dezi tighter. Then, she closed her eyes.

Zayn maintained his position until the person in his arms was breathing more calmly. His eyes also got softer.

When Lindsey woke up, it was already evening and there was a little butt next to her head wearing little crocodile pajamas. Lindsey could not help but pinch his butt. Dezi was like a startled little animal when he turned to look at her.

Lindsey could not help but reveal a big smile after scaring him and asked softly, "Where's Daddy?"

Little Dezi tilted his head and thought for a moment, then shook his head.

The door in front of her was pulled open from the inside. Zayn's eyes contained a touch of sternness. "Let's go down together."

As he said this, he carried Dezi with one arm while he held Lindsey in the other and went downstairs.

Lindsey was worried and asked softly as she held his hand, “What’s wrong?”

Zayn wanted to brush it off, but he held back and told her the truth. “Something came up in the company, so we may have to go back soon."

Without asking, Lindsey knew that it was a serious issue based on Zayn’s expression. She took his hand and said, "Then let's go back. I miss Aunt Wendy."

"Mm."

Lindsey had just shown a little improvement from the therapy sessions. Zayn intended to stay a little longer until her condition was more stable, but the situation at Guggenheim Corporation was not great. Quentin alone could not suppress all the shareholders. All of them thought that since Zayn was not around, they could be in charge and they were getting out of hand.

In just a few months, all kinds of problems came one after another and overwhelmed him.

When Zayn thought about Quentin's report, he unconsciously became stern. Unexpectedly, he felt a warm and soft thing on his cheek.

Dezi had one hand behind Zayn’s neck while his other hand gently rubbed against Zayn's face as he looked at Zayn with his round and cute face.

Zayn raised his eyebrows at him, but Lindsey laughed. "Our Little Dezi is trying to comfort Daddy, so don't worry so much and don’t look so terrifying, alright?"
