Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 388

When Shaun heard the word, "disgusting", his chest suddenly ached, then he felt a wave of uncontrollable anger. "Disgusting? You actually think that’s disgusting?"

The strength of his grip on Yvette's foot grew stronger like he was about to crush that delicate little foot. Yvette gasped, but she did not cry out in pain and yelled back at him, "It's disgusting! Being close to you makes me feel sick! I’m repulsed by you! Bastard, let me go!"

Shaun was already angry and Yvette's words were like adding fuel to the fire. He was breathing heavily, but he did not know how to quell his anger.

His rage engulfed his reasoning. When he was about to throw her out of the car, the last vestiges of his sanity made him realize that something was not right.

Although Yvette was very aggressive earlier, her tone was a little off.

A soft and quiet sob suddenly came to his ears.

Shaun felt like someone had splashed a bucket of cold water over his head. All of a sudden, all the rage in him disappeared.

He maintained the same posture, but he suddenly went closer to Yvette. When he got close enough, he saw that Yvette’s eyes were watery and she had tear marks on her cheeks. She was biting down on her lower lip with her teeth and did not make a sound.

This girl was really stubborn.

Yvette was hiding in the corner of the car. If he did not hear that sob, he would not have noticed that she had cried.

Shaun was suddenly at a loss of what to do. ‘Why did she cry all of a sudden? Wasn’t she so fierce a second ago?’

He felt like a rock had fallen on his chest. He quickly put her foot down and wanted to find a tissue to wipe away her tears.

The two of them just fought. The box of tissues had fallen to a corner somewhere. Shaun could not find it after a while, so he simply used his shirt cuff to wipe the tears from her face.

"You...I didn't mean to. Don't cry..." Shaun apologized somewhat feebly.

His hands were near her face, but the quiet Yvette reached out and slapped him. Shaun could have dodged, but looking at the tears on Yvette's face, he suddenly did not want to.

However, Yvette's palm stopped just a few centimeters from Shaun's face. Then, she slapped his chest. "You really are the biggest bastard in the world!"

After saying that, Yvette withdrew her hand and turned her back to him. She covered her eyes that were constantly gushing out tears and did not allow herself to make a sound, but her shoulders were shaking terribly.

Shaun was stunned for a moment. He slowly clenched his hands and only after a long time did he let go.

The only sound that remained in the small, enclosed space was the occasional sobbing that Yvette tried to suppress.

He loosened his fists and clenched them again several times. In the end, he slowly placed his hands on her trembling shoulders. He sounded helpless and distressed as he said, “Don’t cry...”

Yvette sniffled, but it was useless. Her tears kept streaming down her face and her voice was hoarse. “You’d probably never know what this feels like to give all your happiness and sadness to that one person, that it’s impossible to give anyone else again. Yet understand so clearly that the relationship’s impossible.”

Shaun froze in place. Yvette’s words made his heart feel like it was on fire. It was painful and numbing.

"I'm not..."

"Let me finish, okay?" Yvette seemed to have calmed down and she took a deep breath. "I'm not asking you to be grateful to me. I know you can never give me what I want. I did all those things willingly for you, so you really don't have to look at me like you’re sorry for me."

Yvette reached out and wiped the tears from her eyes. She lifted her head high like the little princess of the Wendells she was who never got hurt or cried.

"Also, whatever I do and whoever I want to be with, male or female, good or bad, has nothing to do with you!" The last traces of tears on her face were finally wiped clean. The emotions in her eyes rushed out, which she desperately tried to suppress. She then turned around with grace.

In the next second, the man's hand suddenly pinched her chin and a slightly aggressive kiss landed on her lips.

Shaun's other hand was wrapped around Yvette's waist as he brought her into his arms. He kissed her domineeringly while he said, "Who said it has nothing to do with me? Say it again!"

He sounded like he was squeezing the words out of his throat. Yvette wanted to say something, but she was completely engulfed by the man.

This kiss carried the saltiness of her tears and the man's deep anger. It was so memorable that every time Yvette thought of her first kiss, she felt a little unbearable.
