Sure enough, Liam's phone rang within a few minutes.
The voice was altered to be hoarse and harsh, so it was impossible to distinguish the identity of the kidnapper. "Did you bring the money? Don’t play any tricks."
Liam did not speak and got down from the car to open the trunk.
He could hear a gasp from the other end of the call. Liam closed the trunk and said, "Where’s my sister?"
The kidnapper got Liam to leave first, then told him an address before they hung up.
Liam was direct and got out of the car. His people followed the address given by the kidnapper to look for Allie.
An hour later, there was breaking news on the local midday news channel.
"An explosion occurred at Forest Drive. Our reporters have arrived at the scene. For the time being, it’s impossible to determine whether it was an accident or a deliberate act of terrorism. One person was in the car at the time of the incident. The police identified that the person died on the spot at the moment of the incident..."
Liam had returned to the Wilford mansion. The doctors and nurses upstairs dared not make a sound to disturb Liam, who was watching the news.
He went upstairs to check on Allie when he first came back and saw that she had a lot of injuries on her face and body, so he went out of the room.
A few minutes later, several ordinarily dressed people were tied up and thrown in front of Liam.
"Who instructed you to do this?" Liam stretched out his foot and lifted one of their heads.
The other man had a beard so his features were not very obvious. When Liam treated him like this, he viciously spat at Liam.
Liam was stunned and immediately ordered a maid to give him a towel. There was a short moment of silence. The people on the ground did not speak. Liam hissed and said, "No one?"
He swept a glance at those people. "I heard that one of you died. What a pity. I guess he was satisfied with the small gift I prepared."
"You're a devil!" The man from earlier roared at Liam.
The corners of Liam's lips hooked up sinisterly. "How clever! Then let me ask again. Who ordered you to do this?"
No one said anything.
"If you don't tell me, I might as well chop you up and feed you all to the dogs." Liam’s gaze crossed the few faces with a little pity, but the corners of his lips were still curled up.
One of them was clearly not as tough as the others. When he heard those words, his legs began to tremble, but when Liam looked at him, fear turned into a heartfelt disgust and hatred.
‘They’re all very tight-lipped, but there’s no way these people alone were capable enough to kidnap Allie. Did they really think I’m so gullible?’
However, Liam still did not know what exactly was their purpose. Since last night when that assassin appeared, he seemed to have another enemy other than Zayn Guggenheim.
Thinking of this second person, Liam's eyes narrowed slightly, as if he was in a state of concentration before going on a hunt.
At the same time, Zayn was also watching the midday news. This result was a little unexpected, but it made sense when he thought about it.
"I heard that my subordinate attacked you last night and even injured you?" There was some doubt on Terence’s face and a touch of darkness flashed in his alluring eyes.
Terence’s surprised tone showed his unawareness.
Liam gently exhaled and regained his composure. "If I’m not mistaken, only 'Schattenlos' would use a triangular bayonet to kill and this is a unique trait of the people trained by your family. I’m also very familiar with the opponent's techniques. Terence, you owe me an explanation for this."
The relationship between the two people who had been friends for many years seemed to be falling apart in an instant with this questioning tone.
Terence tightened his hand that was holding Ginny’s, but his face suddenly showed a helpless smile. His voice was also gentle and soft as he said, "Liam, I think you’ve lost your mind."
He was using such a gentle tone to say such reproachful words. People who were familiar with Terence would know that he was a little angry.
"You and I have known each other for many years and the friendship between our families can be traced back to our grandfathers. If it was my orders, Liam, you should know that you probably wouldn't even be able to sit here and speak to me now."
The smile on his face completely faded. The two men knew each other well and Liam knew that Terence's words were not a joke.
Liam closed his eyes and replayed that chaotic scene in his head again. He thought that he was going mad that he even suspected Terence.
Now that Liam thought about it, the weapon that person used and what they said at the time was simply a poor attempt to frame the Moellers.
"But since it involved me, I won't sit back and do nothing. I’ll certainly give you an explanation." Knowing that Liam was not a fool, Terence compromised and made his position clear.
