Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 284

Shaun and Sieben’s wards were arranged to be right next to each other.

When Soren saw Zayn coming, he subconsciously stood up straight.

Zayn stood in front of him and asked, "How is she?"

Soren shook his head, indicating that her condition was not optimistic. He had little desire to talk and Zayn did not feel there was anything wrong with one of his most trusted men being distracted by a girl he had not known for long.

Zayn trusted that Soren had his own judgment because he viewed Soren more as a friend than his subordinate.

"I'm leaving tonight." Seeing that Soren was about to say something, Zayn raised his hand to stop him. "Take it easy. You can come over when this side is all taken care of."

Soren looked shocked, but Zayn was calm and continued, "Don't worry. You won't be that free. I still have some tasks for you."

Zayn’s calmness was more like a calm before the storm, which made people inexplicably frightened. Soren's expression unconsciously became serious.

Sieben was in this condition, and Shaun was not doing much better. Yvette's eyes were swollen from crying so much. When she saw Zayn coming over, she did not move and only nodded. "Mr. Guggenheim."

"Ms. Wendell." Zayn was also polite to her. He stood at the door of the ward and could see Shaun lying motionless on the bed inside.

Zayn suddenly felt a trace of indescribable regret. The scene in front of him overlapped with that blurry dream in the afternoon, and he actually wished that he could be the one lying there at this moment.

That would be much better than now, where he was surrounded and protected by a group of people, yet still struggling helplessly.

"He's so brave, isn't he?" Yvette had walked up to Zayn at some point. "He was willing to protect her with his life."

Although that person he was protecting was not herself, Yvette did not feel sad. The man she loved was a true hero.

"Right." Zayn suddenly spoke, "I can’t compare to him."

He had hurt Lindsey repeatedly, while Shaun was always giving silently.

"No." Yvette denied. "You’re different. Lindsey loves you, so you’re luckier than him."

Zayn suddenly laughed. "Aren't you jealous?"

"What?"

"Shaun doesn't like you, so aren't you jealous?" Zayn’s words suddenly became cruel.

Yvette froze and pursed her lips, which was a little dry and stung when she moved them. "I am, but I admire her even more."

After saying that, Yvette looked at Zayn and said, "I don't know why Lindsey likes you, but please make sure you find her."

"Because she’s the one he can’t let go of." Yvette once again looked through the glass and glanced at the man on the hospital bed.

Zayn's gaze also fell on Shaun. "I will even if you don’t say so."

Before leaving, Zayn suddenly turned his head to look at Yvette and said cryptically, "He has already let go."

Men understood men better.

Zayn could have kept this to himself, but why should everyone struggle for love and why were there so many star-crossed lovers in this world?

Andre was one of Sophie Leger's attending doctors and he was involved in the diagnosis and treatment of Lindsey's injuries back then. He was also the one who discovered that Lindsey's heart was a suitable match for Sophie.

Speaking of which, all of Lindsey’s suffering later was related to Andre’s discovery. Even though it was not his fault entirely, Lindsey should have felt some resentment towards him, but she could not bring herself to hate him because of all the things that Andre did for her. Since Lindsey knew that the biggest problem was not with him, she did not bother resenting him.

Although she had been mentally prepared, when she saw this familiar doctor and heard Liam Wilford's name, Lindsey still shuddered a little.

The fact that Liam spent so much effort to hurt so many people just for his fiancée showed that there really were such cold-blooded people in this world.

"Where are we going now?"

Andre helped her to adjust the height of the bed she was lying on and smiled lightly. "Mr. Wilford wants to see you first, so we’re going to his place now."

Lindsey looked at Andre coldly. "You’re lying. I've never seen this road before. Where the hell are we going?"

Andre sighed and looked at her like she was a disobedient child. "Ms. Juhl, you’re still so bad-tempered."

He sat down. "Of course, we’re not going to where you used to live. Mr. Wilford said you need an absolutely quiet environment to recuperate for a while. We'll be there soon."

Germany was a very green country with nice landscapes, but the landscape outside did not look neat and tidy like any man-made kind.

The plants were growing wildly and the trees were luscious yet untamed.

Lindsey felt extremely uneasy. "What exactly is this place?"

Andre looked apologetic. "Ms. Juhl, Mr. Wilford instructed me not to tell you. Please forgive me."
