As the leader of the group moved, a few more people filed out.
One of them kicked Sieben hard in the head and asked, "Boss, what should we do?"
"We didn’t intend to catch her in the first place. The boss said not to keep her. She knows too much and almost ran away, so she must be eliminated. Finish her off!"
After saying that, the leader took a step back and swapped positions with the man behind him.
The man gulped and raised his knife. He slowly stepped forward and widened his eyes, which flashed with a little fear and some excitement.
He raised the blade high and was ready to slit the girl’s throat when suddenly a flash of bright lights and a sharp siren cut through the darkness.
"Sh*t! Let's go! Inform the Young Lady to hurry up and move her." The leader of the group pulled the man who was ready to kill Sieben and the group of them disappeared into the darkness.
Allie Wilford pulled Lindsey up and gently patted her face. When she found that Lindsey was unresponsive, she looked up at Shaun and said, "I’ll tell you another piece of good news. Lindsey will die soon, together with her child. Are you happy?"
Seeing Shaun kneeling on the ground in front of her with his face covered in dirt and blood, Allie could not help but laugh loudly.
"Save her!" Somehow, Shaun found the strength and suddenly broke free from the person controlling him to grab Allie's neck.
The man behind him saw this and fiercely slashed Shaun's arms. His eyes widened abruptly and blood flowed out profusely from the wound, but he still did not let go and said, "Save her! Don't hurt her!"
Allie looked at Shaun's face up close and suddenly felt terrified because she thought that he was really going to strangle her to death.
In fact, Shaun's strength was constantly draining from him.
When someone behind him kneed his stomach, Shaun finally could not hold on and let go of Allie. He then fell backward.
Before he hit the ground, Shaun was kicked to the far side of the room and he vomited a large mouthful of blood, then completely passed out.
Allie looked at Shaun as if he was trash. She used her chin to point at Lindsey and said, "Take her with you. There’s a doctor on board, so treat her as soon as you arrive."
Lindsey was lifted up, but there was a puddle of blood on the ground. Allie's eyes jumped and she forced herself to calm down.
Unfortunately, before she could calm down, a panicked voice suddenly came from outside. "Young Lady, we have to evacuate now! The police are coming!"
Allie was flustered and said, "Police? How can there be police here? No, wait. If the police are here, then Zayn's people must be among them. Hurry up!"
They settled on a plan a long time ago and had planned out their hiding and escape routes. They were also thorough to have a plan for if they were found.
Someone pointed to Shaun and said, "Young Lady, what about this guy?"
Allie glanced at him and said, "Do you want to keep him here so that he can expose us?"
The man understood what she meant and took a few steps forward. He had his hand around Shaun's neck and was ready to twist it, but found that this man no longer had a pulse.
At that moment, the lights outside shone brightly and the sound of sirens rang in their ears.
The man could not care less about Shaun and ran away, leaving him behind.
Yvette had lived in Atlantic City her whole life, but she had never been to the eastern suburbs before. The buildings and surroundings here were completely different from where she grew up.
Yvette was truly terrified, but she still kept her foot on the gas pedal and floored it.
Seeing that she almost reached the funeral home, Yvette kept psyching herself, but she suddenly saw something lying on the ground not far away. Her pupils instantly constricted.
In a panic, she slammed on the brakes. Yvette took a glance and found that it was a person that looked dark and camouflaged with the night.
The person was lying on the side of the road and there was a pool of blood on the ground. Yvette’s heart was beating fast and the uneasiness in her heart became stronger when she saw the person lying on the roadside.
‘Who’s that? How did it get here? Is that person still alive? Should I save it?’
Yvette almost cried from the fear. If it was still broad daylight, she would have gone straight down to check it out, but it was so dark and this place was so eerie.
After sitting in the car for a short while, Yvette made a decision and whispered, "I’m sorry, I really have something very important right now. I'll come back to save you once I find him. Else I'm afraid that something might happen to him too. I'm sorry...I'm really sorry..."
Yvette was also afraid that the person was already dead or if she got off, someone would attack her.
She made a sign of the cross, then quickly drove past the person on the side of the road.
The crisp siren soon arrived in front of the funeral home.
Yvette held a flashlight in one hand while she held a taser in another hand and carefully pushed the car door open to get off.
The entire funeral home was pitch black, which was inconspicuous in the night, but the door was slightly ajar.
