"She’s not here." Allie was adamant. "Whether you know it or not, I'm telling you now that Lindsey doesn't want to keep this child. She has to find a place to go through the procedure properly. Why don’t you think about whose child this is? If Zayn found out, then she’ll have no choice but to give birth to this child. Zayn’s scandals are all over the place now. He’s just using her as a birthing machine!"
Shaun was rendered speechless by Allie’s words. He was only anxious to find Lindsey because Yvette said that Lindsey did not want this child. Even so, what should he do or say once he saw her? Should he persuade her to keep the child?
All night, Shaun did not figure out what he should do after seeing Lindsey. His only instinct was to find her.
Seeing Shaun so reserved, another more intriguing plan rose in Allie's mind.
If she handed Lindsey over to Shaun, everything might go more smoothly...
Allie still could not openly go against Lindsey and still had to continue with her good guy act. If Lindsey did not want to abort this child, what else could Allie do? She could not possibly force someone to do the procedure for Lindsey. By then, Lindsey's reaction aside, when Zayn found out, he would kill her immediately.
"Do you want to find Lindsey so that you can persuade her to give birth to this child? This is Zayn's child, and Lindsey said they’ll soon be divorced. Now that she’s pregnant with his child, what is she to do?" Allie poked at Shaun's soft spot as she said this word by word.
Shaun opened his mouth, but nothing came out. After all, this so-called love could not make him a bigger person. He did not want this child to be born, especially after knowing that Lindsey herself did not want it.
Allie was betting that Shaun would take her bait. Lindsey was like a hot potato and Allie thought it better to let someone who had the same goal as her take Lindsey away.
She listed all the pros and cons clearly and said confidently, “I actually know where Lindsey is.”
As soon as she said this, Shaun immediately raised his head. "Is she okay?" He was still worried about Lindsey and could not let her go.
"She’s fine." Allie said dully, “I didn’t mean to keep this from you. Lindsey is indeed here, but I can’t risk anything happening to her. Seeing how you’re so worried about her and how you’re on her side, I decided to tell you the truth.
"I figured that Zayn is searching for her everywhere and still doesn't know about the child yet. When he does, he’ll think of me immediately, so it's not safe here. He’s the one who has repeatedly locked her up."
Speaking of this, Allie deliberately paused for a moment. Sure enough, she saw Shaun's fists clench.
"Ask her to come with me." Shaun held back his emotions. Allie's attitude changed a bit too drastically and he noticed it. However, since Allie showed signs of handing Lindsey over, he could not let this opportunity go. Lindsey's safety was always his biggest concern.
"That’s fine. I know you’re true to Lindsey." Allie pondered her words and continued, "But..."
"Why the hesitation? Aren't you afraid that Zayn will knock down your door? I’ll take all the responsibility." Shaun saw Allie’s intentions at a glance.
He absolutely did not trust Allie at the moment. This seemingly innocent girl was in no way as friendly to Lindsey as she seemed to be.
When Lindsey was called downstairs, she was walking back and forth in her room to aid digestion. Her morning sickness was still severe, but she could eat more now.
She was a little shocked when she saw Shaun sitting in the living room of the Wilford Residence.
"Brother, why are you here?" Lindsey could not recall that Shaun and Allie had a friendship.
Shaun was always a bad liar in front of Lindsey, so Allie spoke, "The Wendell girl told him about you, so he came here demanding to see you."
Allie smiled and went up to pull Lindsey to the couch. "You may not be aware, but Zayn is now looking for you everywhere. If he finds out that we met yesterday, he’ll come looking for you at once."
