Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 175

"What are you doing?!" Allie Wilford exclaimed.

"Shut up!" The man's voice was colder than seawater.

However, Allie was not afraid of him. When she saw no one around, her face also turned cold. "Shaun Juhl! What do you mean by this?"

Shaun's normally gentle face became somewhat cold and stern. "Was it you who made Lindsey fall overboard?"

Allie's eyes flashed with a trace of panic, but the surrounding light was too dark so Shaun did not see it. He only heard Allie's incredulous voice sounding aggrieved as she said, "What did you say? Why would I want to hurt Lindsey? Shaun Juhl, have you forgotten that I was the one who saved Lindsey when she was in trouble? If I wanted to harm her, why would I save her in the first place?"

Her words were justified and Shaun's interrogative tone lightened a little, but the way he looked at Allie was still unkind.

Allie continued, "Besides, if I pushed Lindsey down, she’ll know when she wakes up, so why would I want to go through that trouble?"

Shaun coldly snorted. "It better not be you, otherwise, I won't let you get away with it no matter how many times you saved Lindsey!"

Allie glared at him and said, "You probably forgot the reason I came to you. Our common enemy is Zayn Guggenheim! Don't be mistaken now."

After saying that, Allie lifted her dress and said, "I'm going to check on Lindsey." She then turned around and disappeared from Shaun’s sight.

Shaun still had his doubts. At that time, Allie was closest to Lindsey. The ship had many guests that night, so all areas had been cleared on deck. How could it be so coincidental that something happened when Lindsey was standing on the ledge?

Clearly, Shaun was not the only one who had this suspicion.

Allie rushed to the hotel where Lindsey and Zayn were staying with an anxious face, but she was stopped at the door by a smiling Quentin before she could even enter the room.

"Ms. Wilford, you were closest to the Young Madam just now before she fell overboard, so I’d like to understand the situation from you."

"Let me check on Lindsey first, then we'll talk about it later." Allie was still panting as she ran all the way here. Her hair came loose and her makeup melted. She did not look like a proper lady, but this also showed precisely how worried she was.

Quentin stood steadily, unmoving. "It’ll just take a short while. The Young Madam can’t have visitors now, so Ms. Wilford, please wait a moment."

"What exactly do you want to ask?" Allie's eyebrows rose and she looked at Quentin with an unkind expression.

Quentin's question was no different from the one Shaun asked. Allie still kept the same reasoning, but she showed more emotions. Anger and grievance surfaced on her face and she even almost hit Quentin.

After tossing and turning like this, Quentin seemed to believe her words, but Allie still did not get to see Lindsey in the end.

"When will I be able to see Lindsey?" Her face was full of anxiety and she looked worried about Lindsey.

Quentin pulled out his standard smile. "Young Madam is still asleep. The President has said that he won't see anyone, so you probably won't be able to see her today."

Allie was reluctant and still insisted on her decision. "I won't leave until I see Lindsey today."

Quentin scrutinized her for a while, but he did not drive her away.

The company’s reception had turned into such a mess, so Zayn must stand out to give the stakeholders an explanation. However, Zayn just looked at the person lying unconscious on the bed and did not know what to think. He was sitting there motionless and almost turned into a statue.

Quentin did not dare to disturb him at this time, so he had to make a decision after discussing with the company's senior management overnight.

The person in the bed was not sleeping peacefully. Although she had taken a bath and had changed into clean and comfortable clothes, Lindsey still felt like she was submerged in seawater. From time to time, she would struggle and look very wretched.

Zayn saw her like this and hugged her tightly. His cheek was leaning on her forehead and his chest was hurting so much he could not speak.

He sat next to her until the latter part of the night when the person trapped in her nightmare suddenly became feverish.
