Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 154

Lindsey stayed cooped up at home for two whole days.

After Zayn left in anger that night, he never came to find Lindsey again, but every day, he had someone come knocking on Lindsey's door with a specially-prepared meal.

At first, Lindsey thought it was a mistake. She then realized that it was Zayn who sent it. If she did not open the door, the delivery person would just stand there and not leave. They even said that if she did not accept it, they would not be able to answer to Zayn.

Lindsey was helpless, so she finally took it.

All the dishes were her favorites. When Lindsey tasted them, she could tell that it was Mrs. Wendy's cooking.

What was Zayn up to?

Before Lindsey could figure this out, she received a call from Mrs. Wendy.

"Zayn said that you’re always home, so I brought you the extra dishes I made. The Old Master is alone and can’t eat much, so a lot of food goes to waste. Outside food isn’t clean or healthy, so I’ll have someone send meals to you every day after I’m done cooking."

Lindsey could not refuse her kindness.

Mrs. Wendy added, “You should come back home because it's not safe for a girl to live alone outside. I’ll be worried for you.”

Lindsey did not know how to reply to that. She brushed it off lightly and Mrs. Wendy did not insist. She only kept urging Lindsey to take good care of herself.

When Allie came to look for Lindsey that afternoon, she bumped into the Guggenheim family’s servant carrying a huge insulated lunch bag at the door.

Lindsey opened the door and picked up the bag.

After she thanked the other person, she invited Allie in.

"Did you order takeout?" Allie asked suspiciously.

"No, Aunt Wendy made this for me." Lindsey put the lunch bag on the table and casually said this as she took out the items inside.

"Who’s Aunt Wendy?"

It was then that Lindsey realized Allie did not know who Aunt Wendy was.

The hot dishes took up half of the table and looked very appetizing. Lindsey handed Allie some cutleries and said, "Aunt Wendy is a maid from the Guggenheim mansion. She’s a very nice elderly woman. Allie, come sit and try some."

Actually, Lindsey felt that it was inappropriate to call Mrs. Wendy a maid. She was more like a nice aunt.

Allie took the cutlery and continued to ask, "So Zayn asked someone to cook and send these to you?"

Lindsey was stunned and thought for a moment before she said, "No, it's just that Aunt Wendy was worried about me being alone outside, so she cooked extra for me."

However, Allie obviously did not believe her. How could a maid do such a thing without the master's order? When she considered this, her tone was tinged with a bit of jealousy as she said, "Zayn’s rather nice to you, huh?"

Lindsey did not understand how this had to do with Zayn being nice to her, but she felt that Allie's tone was a bit strange.

"Allie, what's wrong?" Lindsey asked.

Allie looked at Lindsey with wide eyes and was about to brush her off, but she suddenly thought of something and tears instantly welled up in her eyes. Allie’s voice even trembled when she said, “Lindsey, you must help me...”

Lindsey was startled and asked, "What's wrong? What happened?"
