Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 135

Lindsey felt that Zayn was being weird, but she could not pinpoint what was so strange about him.

Zayn did not wait for Lindsey to answer and added, "Drink some water. The doctor said you can't eat anything yet."

As he said this, he scooped up a spoonful of water and brought it over to Lindsey's lips.

This was the first time he did something like this, so his movements were very awkward, but the spoonful of water stopped steadily at Lindsey's lips.

Lindsey was stunned, but she still opened her mouth.

The water was just the right temperature and the astringent feeling in her mouth faded.

"Did you send me here?" Lindsey finally asked.

"No."

When Zayn received news of her accident, Lindsey was already on her way to the hospital and the person who followed her was so frightened that he called Zayn on the way.

"My people were following you and notified me when they saw your accident."

He did not mention that he raced to the hospital, or that he carried her blood-stained body with trembling hands from the car into the emergency room, or even the agony he felt as he waited outside the operating room.

"Zayn Guggenheim! You even got someone to follow me?" As expected, Lindsey's eyes instantly widened when she heard these words.

Lindsey forgot that she was having an IV drip and that her body was still weak as she struggled to sit up.

Seeing her like this, Zayn's suppressed emotions instantly erupted and he held her down. "Are you done messing around?!"

When Zayn yelled at Lindsey, her narrow eyebrows curved up and anger surged in her chest, but her reclining posture and frail body made her words come out weak.

"Zayn Guggenheim! Will you just get out of my sight?"

Her weak voice triggered something in Zayn, so he closed his eyes, hiding all the pain he was feeling. There was no hint of rage when he finally said, "Fine."

After he said that, he saw that Lindsey had turned away from him, so he fixed her blanket and walked out of the ward

His lingering scent still had not dissipated, but the ward was quiet.

Lindsey finally figured out what was wrong with Zayn.

She could tell that his usual aggressiveness was gone. Instead, there were other emotions.

That emotion was similar to guilt.

Lindsey was still thinking about the change in Zayn's attitude towards her when a familiar female cry suddenly bombarded her ears. "Lindsey! What happened?! How did you get into a car accident? You scared me to death!"

When she saw who was coming, Lindsey smiled faintly and said, "Allie, why are you here? I'm fine."

"You call this fine?" Allie sized Lindsey up and could instantly see that Lindsey could not even roll to her side.

The heartache and pity she felt for Lindsey faded when she thought of the absent-minded man who walked out of the ward and ignored her greeting.

The more Zayn ignored her, the more strong-willed she became.

"Why did you go out without a bodyguard? It scared me to death when I heard that you got into a car accident! Why is Zayn Guggenheim also here? Were you both together last night?" Allie asked several questions in a row.

She hid her greatest concern into this thread of questions. Her voice even carried a crying tone that made it seem like she was very worried, so Lindsey did not notice anything odd about her.
