Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 121

Quentin was so shocked that he became completely speechless. He did not know how Lindsey Juhl had survived, not to mention why she who had been missing for six months suddenly became the Interim President of Wilford Corporation.

Nonetheless, these were not important. What mattered most was that she had returned.

Quentin could barely suppress the joy that anyone who had seen Zayn's madness over the past six months would have.

However, Quentin still had a sound mind. Although he was surprised, he still noticed that there was something off about Lindsey's tone. The joy he had was instantly washed away.

He put a professional smile on his face again and tucked the hand that was holding his phone back into his pocket. He then quietly made a gesture behind his back, not caring whether anyone saw it or not, and said, "Ms. Juhl, this way please."

Lindsey pretended not to see his little gesture, nor did she care about the group of shocked Denarius employees in front of her. She then walked to one of the main seats and sat down.

Even though Quentin was so flustered that his heart was pounding, he did not show it on his face at all except for the momentary loss of composure in the beginning. He quickly arranged the processes in an orderly manner and found an opportunity to slip out.

Lindsey gently sipped a mouthful of tea and leaned back in her chair elegantly. She was certainly aware of what Quentin went to do, so she simply waited.

For the first time in their lives, Denarius' employees saw the spectacle of Quentin running wildly in the office while talking on the phone.

Soon, their attention turned to their revered President, who ran even faster than Quentin.

Quentin walked leisurely behind this time, waving his hand at curious employees to get back to work.

The Denarius employees in the conference hall were all absent-minded. From time to time, they would sneak a glance at Lindsey and quickly withdraw their gaze. Almost everyone had heard of Lindsey’s accident and had even speculated in private that perhaps Jenny Lenig and the President had conspired together. Who could have imagined that she would appear right in front of their eyes?

Moreover, she had this...ominous look about her.

When the door to the conference hall was pushed open, the signing ceremony was at its last stage.

The pen in Lindsey's hand landed on the white paper and she had just made a stroke when she heard a loud bang, followed by a man's roar that pierced through the crowd and thundered in her ears.

"Lindsey Juhl!"

The man's eyes were filled with emotions that Lindsey could not comprehend. She paused for a moment before saying, "Mr. Guggenheim, it’s been a while."

His rapid breathing gradually settled down when he heard her voice. His heart that was pounding in his chest seemed to have fallen into place, but because it fell too fast and too hard, it seemed to hurt.

The man’s face was still sweaty from sprinting downstairs that he looked a little unkempt. His eyes that used to look like icebergs suddenly started to radiate warmth and melted the ice at full speed.

Lindsey could barely sustain the smile on her face. She thought she even saw a trace of moisture in Zayn's eyes.

In the next moment, the man who was standing quietly in the doorway suddenly walked forward. The crowd automatically made way for him as he walked straight to Lindsey. No one seemed to notice that his fingers were trembling.

There were too many emotions in those eyes. There was astonishment, hesitation, skepticism, and circumspection that arose from the sudden joy.

Those hidden emotions eventually turned into a hug so tight that looked like he wanted Lindsey’s body to merge into his.
