Zayn straightened his shirt without showing any signs of sadness on his face.
If Soren had not personally witnessed Zayn's sleeplessness and dismay these days, he probably would not have been able to tell from the look on his face.
Soren sighed in his heart. Now, he hoped that they would not find Lindsey's body so that Zayn could still have some sort of hope.
"How’s the company doing these days?" Zayn suddenly asked.
Soren's eyes instantly lit up when he heard this. He knew better than anyone else what Zayn meant by that. The President was finally going to get his act together.
Thus, he immediately said, "The company's affairs are being managed by Quentin, but he's struggling without you. The board of directors is also constantly pressuring him. I’m afraid that if this continues, it won't take long for them to remove you from your position."
"Ha! Those old trolls!" Zayn sneered. "Send over my suit. I’ll head to the office this afternoon."
If it was possible, Zayn wanted to give up everything he had in exchange for her well-being, but if he had nothing, would she still come back to him?
If only money could make him keep her heart, then he would not mind giving her all the wealth in the world so that she would never look at another person again.
Soren was so excited that he was at a loss. Zayn was the company’s backbone. As long as he was willing to go to the office, those clowns would not dare to make a move.
On the beach.
When Lindsey regained consciousness, she felt especially hot as if she was being baked in an oven.
The sunlight overhead seemed to hit her full blast, evaporating almost all moisture from her body. The thing beneath her was also burning, but Lindsey did not have the strength to find out what it was.
Not far away, someone seemed to be talking and that voice was very cheerful and pleasant.
Lindsey wanted to call for help, but her throat was so dry that she could not make a sound. Instead, her chapped lips could not withstand the small movement and cracked ever further, revealing traces of blood.
Not long after, Lindsey passed out again.
"Brother, look! Is that a person over there?" The girl's innocent and cheerful voice rang out on the beach.
"I think you’re seeing things." The man's voice sounded a little menacing.
"No, I’m not! Let's go over and take a look!"
......
In the afternoon, Zayn's car just left the office when it was purposely obstructed by another car.
"Zayn Guggenheim! Get down here!" Shaun's voice thundered and it did not sound at all like the warm and gentle voice he had when speaking with Lindsey.
"Young Master, let me find a way to go around him," The driver said carefully. He also knew who the man was and had a feeling that he was here for revenge.
Zayn loosened his collar and ignored the driver's words. He then pushed the door open and got out of the car.
"Will you stop lingering at my office lobby every day like a mad dog?"
